Every action taken to care for our environment (no matter how big or small), is helping to create a more beautiful, healthier, and vibrant Novato!

We're so grateful for everyone who took part in Earth Month activities during April. THANK YOU!

Cristo Es La Puerta Youth Ministry volunteered their time on April 6 to clean up litter and dumped garbage at Scottsdale Pond.

Novato's Team Up to Clean Up volunteers, with support from Marin County Parks and Caltrans Bay Area-District 4, pitched in to clean up litter around Rush Creek Preserve on April 6.

A small but mighty group of committed and enthusiastic residents from Marin Valley Mobile Country Club picked up litter on Marin Valley Drive on April 22 (Earth Day!).

Ultragenyx's 'Day of Service' volunteers, showed the trees at Scottsdale Pond some serious love on April 24 by placing compost and mulch around each tree.

Volunteers from Novato Tree Team, Rotary Club of Novato, Rotary Club of Novato Evening, Novato Sunrise Rotary and Rotary Club of Ignacio planted 13 Northern Red Oaks on Wilson Avenue on April 27.

Sustainability Superstars!

We're #NovatoProud of Sustainable Marin Schools’ six California Climate Action Corps Fellows, who are spearheading impactful sustainability initiatives across five Novato schools! Together, they've empowered 1,500+ students with recycling and composting training, established Green Teams, enhanced elementary school science classes with engaging climate action education and activities, and developed nature-based outdoor classrooms.

Thanks to the dedication of these amazing Fellows, student-led waste monitoring has diverted 85,000 pounds of food waste from the landfill to composting facilities! A huge thank you to Aaron, Ashley, Grace, Katy, Lindsey, and Susan for their outstanding contributions!

Compost Giveaway

Dozens of residents took part in the City's free Compost Giveaway on April 20 at the Corp Yard. Eager Novato gardeners filled 900 bags of compost and made a huge dent in the compost pile!

Although we celebrate Earth Day in April of each year, everyone has a role to play in caring for our earth all year long.
