WHAT'S ON OUR MIND

What a difference a week makes.

VP Kamala Harris has reignited us all. She has earned enough delegate support to be the presumed Democratic nominee and, in doing so, has electrified the country. Click here to donate to Kamala.

She has a solid record of accomplishments from her service, most notably in the nearly four years she stood alongside Biden, helping to deliver to the American public on a wide range of JAC issues. As the only president who has served in all three branches of government, she will bring a unique experience to the Oval Office.

While we are excited about the top of the ticket, we must spread our energy to House and Senate races. Kamala will need a Democratic Congress to advance her agenda and strengthen the U.S.-Israel relationship.

JAC candidates are also energized. We met this week with Florida Senate candidate Debbie Mucarsel-Powell. The Florida Senate race is critical to gaining a more significant majority in the Senate. If Debbie wins and we expand our Democratic seats, we can eliminate the filibuster, preventing action on critical legislation. Click here to donate to Debbie.

Debbie is running against Rick Scott, one of the most dangerous and extreme GOP senators. He has proudly said he would support a nationwide abortion ban and said if he were governor of Florida, he would have signed a six-week abortion ban. Scott voted against bipartisan legislation to establish federal protections for IVF. He even co-sponsored a national abortion ban that would put doctors in prison.

Debbie knows about working hard and sacrificing. While her mother worked double shifts as a home healthcare provider, Debbie worked at a doughnut shop to help her family make ends meet. She tragically lost her father at a young age to gun violence and will fight to end gun violence.

With Kamala on top of the ticket and an abortion initiative on the ballot, Florida can finally turn blue.

Elections have consequences.

THE LAST WORD

History is in your hands. The power is in your hands. The idea of America lies in your hands. You just have to keep faith. Keep the faith and remember who we are. We’re the United States of America. And there is simply nothing, nothing beyond our capacity when we do it together.

So let’s act together, preserve our democracy."
