EVANGELISM
The Opening Prayer from our Devotional Handbook
As our Lord and Master Jesus Christ suffered death upon the cross that all who came after him should have light, we dedicate ourselves anew to the purpose of the Brotherhood, the spread of Christ's kingdom, especially among men and youth, not by our might but by the power of God's Spirit

EVANGELISM
The Brotherhood Collect
Almighty God, who gave such grace to your apostle Andrew, that he readily obeyed the call of your Son Jesus Christ, and brought his brother with him: Give us, who are called by your Holy Word, grace to follow him without delay, and to bring those near to us into his gracious presence; who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God now and forever. Amen

New book written by our Brother!
Members of the Brotherhood may be interested in my new novel, The Pelican and the Phoenix. It is a historical fiction set in the late second-century church in North Africa - a church faced with martyrdom and persecution. It traces the earliest attempts to translate the Bible into Latin and paints a portrait of Tertullian as a young lawyer thinking his way into the Christian faith

Fire at St. Christopher Damages Dining Areas
|
|
St. Christopher Camp and Conference Center experienced a fire on the morning of December 17 in the attic of the small dining room. While the fire was isolated and extinguished quickly by the rapid response of the St. John’s Fire Department, smoke and soot had spread throughout the attic of the entire kitchen dining room complex, permeating the attic space and the sprayed-in open cell ceiling insulation. As smoke and soot continued to permeate the entire structure through the process of extinguishing the attic fire, all permeable surfaces and items throughout the kitchen and dining room structures seem to have been compromised beyond use. A restoration company has been on site since the day of the fire working to clean and salvage those items that can be saved from the kitchen.

MEMBERS BIBLE STUDY SUGGESTIONS
|
A Bible Study to Consider
Faithful Questions: Exploring the Way with Jesus.
"Asking questions is an essential part of our faith. Nearly every person in the Bible who encountered God did so with serious questions. Faithful Questions is an invitation to engage our curiosity and our wonder as we seek to follow Jesus. Does God answer our prayers? Why did Jesus die? Written by Episcopal priests Scott Gunn and Melody Wilson Shobe, Faithful Questions explores these and many other questions of our faith."

"Evangelism FOR the Church"
We will reclaim and practice evangelism.
"We will expand the number and diversity of people who engage the Episcopal branch of the Jesus Movement."
Evangelism – 101 ....is a current program to guide and assist parishes and Brotherhood chapters to become more engaged in evangelism.
Evangelism 101 is a not-so-basic training designed to introduce a fresh, humble, effective, and Episcopal approach to the spiritual practice of evangelism. Currently, only facilitated by members of the Episcopal Evangelism Team, the training lasts from one to five hours. The downloadable Participant Guide + Handouts include a host of resources for understanding the Jesus Movement, redefining evangelism, organizing a revival, sharing our stories, walking the neighborhood, improving hospitality, and more.
