Impeachment, Coronavirus, housing crisis, election year, tax time and so much more it's almost as though we're in a vortex of constant change, a time where if you're standing still you're losing ground. We don't dare pick up the phone; you might have to talk to someone and gosh only knows how far that sets us back from answering our email, texting or posting something really important: "Did you see what I ate for lunch?". We're driven to respond to every FB posting or text message right away and not to do so is considered a social no-no. Didn't you read the text I sent 20minutes ago?

Ok, all of that being said, I invite you to take 10 minutes and read this. Relax, eat your lunch or have a second cup of coffee while you digest this short newsletter.

The Chamber is buzzing with more people coming and going out of this building than we've experienced in the last year, and that's a good thing.

We're building on our base of programs and creating new ones to address the needs of achieving our mission, our mission of championing Escondido as the City of choice to do business in. The Chamber is about commerce. Commerce is another word for trade or business and can mean simply the buying and selling of goods and services. The Chamber is committed to building commerce here in Escondido. What's that mean? It means that we identify areas that we can create efficiencies for businesses to succeed. It means the Chamber is working to ease the pathway to doing business in Escondido. It means centering on all things related to commerce in Escondido. Got a problem with a permit or understanding the process needed to expand a current facility, open a second location or promote an existing one? Come to the Chamber and let's work together to understand and meet the process necessary. It means learning and understanding the rules by which our City is governed and meeting those requirements. It also means addressing the problems encountered and working to resolve them.

It's our mission here at the Chamber. We're constantly channeling the collective knowledge of our members, our legislative advocates, and local officials to help resolve issues, clear hurdles and point business in a positive direction.

I know this is fairly broad and some might question our ability to gain any traction here but, that's not us. We see the light, we see the future and we see the possibilities. Most importantly we see the pathway to succeeding. We're going to deliver on making the future a reality. The Chamber sees a future where we grow from the fruits of our labors and we build a stronger community drawn together in a spirit of fellowship and understanding with a common goal which stretches across all boundaries.

Join us, be a part of the change.

Finally, last week's poll results: 60% of responders said that they did watch or listen to the State of the Union Address, and this week's poll question  (click on the question to vote) Do You Plan To Dineout In Escondido On Valentines' Day?

Cheers ,
