I want to thank Bob Gunn, David Malone, Anita Kendrick, Abby Wilson and the Celebration Choir for the beautiful special music this past Sunday. It was also special to open the 11:00 service with the baptism of Mary Messick and her grandson, Sevin Messick. I also want to thank Rhys Everspaugh for the wonderful message he preached from Joel 2. We were reminded that it is not the outward things we do that ultimately draw us near to God. We are called to return to Him with broken hearts (repentance). As we have entered a season of prayer for our revival services on October 29^th, it is my prayer that all of us will humble ourselves before God with broken hearts as we commit to live holy lives.

We had a great time of Discipleship Training with Dr. Tommy Doughty on Sunday afternoon as he taught “Christian Worldview and the World Wide Web.” There were 40 in attendance! I hope you will mark your calendar for November 5^th as we gather for a different DT topic.

I want to once again remind you about our annual Family Fall Festival. This year it will be on Saturday, October 21^st, 4:00 – 7:00pm, in the gym (food served in the Fellowship Hall). As I stated Sunday, if you or your children wear a costume, please keep it appropriate to a church setting and refrain from scary or traditional Halloween costumes (i.e., witches, devils, skeletons, etc.) We are not having a Halloween party. We are having a family-oriented fall fellowship. That said, there will be food, games, fun, and lots of candy for the children – and activities for all ages. A cart for candy donations is set up in the Welcome Center. If you can help with set-up and/or operating the games, please contact Judy Myers, Rachel Davis, or phone the church office. WE NEED Volunteers, Candy, and Participants for the Chili Cookoff! Sign-up sheets are in the Sanctuary foyer, OR you may use your Connect Card from the church Bulletin, OR you may phone the church office.

If you are interested in riding the church bus to the Mississippi Baptist Convention annual meeting on Tuesday, October 24^th, please let me or Rhys know.

Finally, remember that International Evangelist Brian Tyndall will be back with us on Sunday, October 29^th. He will lead revival services at 8:30 & 11:00am, and 6:00pm. Please be in prayer for this special day, and invite everyone you know.
