MAY NEWSLETTER

A Message From Pastor Wright

My grandmother had a huge impact on my life. She was a spiritual woman. She loved God. She was always talking about God and prayed over us fervently. She was a light in my life. I know my faith was instilled in me by her and others that loved the Lord.

 Paul writes:

“I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also." (2 Timothy 1:5)

God uses godly moms and grandmothers to instill faith in children. We need a new generation of women of God who will raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord.

We need to pray for moms today.

Caleb's Corner

Youth Minister Caleb Gray

and his wife Sydney

As school comes to a close next month, the youth will gather in the ERCC Teen Building for an end-of-year party. This event is for students going into middle and high school. There will be pizza, drinks, snacks, and games. The event will run from 5:00 - 7:00 pm and will be a wonderful time for your child to invite friends. Students are encouraged to stay the whole time, but may come and go if needed.

For questions or concerns, call or text Caleb Gray at 334-722-0644.

Overcomers Seminars

Wednesdays at 6:30 PM

Our Spring Outreach continues throughout May. Please join us. There is probably someone you know and love who suffers from issues that will be addressed. Expert speakers are scheduled for each session. By attending, you'll become more knowledgeable and able to understand and support those suffering.

Even though this is an outreach to our community, our Overcomers themes were selected with our ERCC family in mind. We need this type of teaching. Most of our families deal with these serious issues.

Come and hear expert speakers on the following themes and dates:

Wendy Barnes is just one of our expert speakers. She will be speaking on Overcoming Depression on May 10th.  Here is her biography:

Wendy Barnes

  • Wendy obtained her Master’s Degree in Counseling at the University of Kansas in 2002. She served the Army as a Mental Health Specialist from 2000-2004 and an additional tour in Iraq from 2007 -2008.
  • Wendy has held her license to practice as a Licensed Professional Counselor in Texas since 2004. Wendy is also a member of the American Association of Christian Counselors.
  • In addition to all the above, and most importantly, Wendy is a follower and lover of Jesus Christ. She is a wife of more than 22 years and a mother of 3. Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 12:2 where we are encouraged to be transformed by the renewing of our minds.

Volunteers Needed for Overcomers Seminars

Wednesdays at 6:30 PM

The Overcomers Seminars are also an outreach to our community. We have placed hundreds of door hangers on homes in our area, inviting our neighbors to the seminars.

Our hope is that many of the attendees from the community will find these seminars to be a side door to ERCC. We want to see souls saved and we want to minister to these people. So, we will need greeters, servers and help with the set up and clean-up. Please come and join us in this ministry.

Movie Night At ERCC

FRIDAY, MAY 19th at Sundown (approx. 8 pm)

Featuring the movie: "God's Compass"

We've had great turnout to watch great family friendly movies this spring, and this is another good one. It will probably be the last outdoor movie until fall (after the weather cools down) so don't miss it!

Bring a yard chair and depending on the weather, maybe a light jacket. Hot dogs will be provided to go along with whatever sides, cookies, desserts, snacks and soda volunteers bring.

The movie will start at sundown at approximately 8:00 pm on Friday, May 19th.

“God's Compass” tells the story of a recently retired high school principal, played by Karen Abercrombie (“War Room”), who takes in a delinquent boy and discovers a miraculous connection that brings her and her son's family together through healing and a renewed faith journey.

Sunday Morning Bible Study at 9:00 am

To grow in your faith, you need to feast on the solid food of the Word of God. We offer 3 different adult classes and classes for children of all ages.

Mike Faur's leads a class with topics from the New Testament book of Romans.

It meets in room 107 in the Education Building.

Millie Borelli's class is only for adult women. It has a theme of Wisdom for Money, based on the book of the same title by Boyd Bailey. It's a study examining stewardship of the money God has blessed us with, and how our use of money can either compete with God or bring us closer to Him. It meets in a classroom in the Fellowship Hall.

Marshall Pierce leads a classwith topics based on the wisdom found in the Old Testament book of Ecclesiastes.

It meets in Room 108 in the Education Building.

Below are classes offered at 9:00 am on Sundays:

OUR MISSION

Niños de Mexico is a non-profit organization directly supported by churches and individuals throught the United States.

THE NEED

The Greater Mexico City area is one of the largesst urban areas in the world with nearly 30 million people. In this metro area, there are thousands of street-childen.

...Some have been orphaned.

... Others have been abandoned.

... Still others have been abused.

... All of the need the love of Jesus!

A FRUITFUL WORK

Since 1967, Niños de Mexico has been giving LIFE to thse children one child at a time!! Many of these children have grown up to beocme doctors, ministers, teachers, and more, helping to spread the good news of Jesus Christ in Mexico!

Today, we area actively involved in sharing Jesus with the children and people of Mexico through our eight children's homes, medical outreach, and church plants.

OUR HOMES

Niños de Mexico operates children's homes in the Mexcio City area and the city of Cholula, Puebla. Each home is designed to function as a family. With Christian house parents, their kids, and 11-15 children, Niños homes are truly loving and caring places for the children to grow and learn the love of Jesus!

Prayer Warriors Ministry of Intercession

If you would like to participate in this ministry, please send an email to pastor.mark.a.wright@gmail.com.
