AUGUST NEWSLETTER

A Message From Pastor Wright

God chooses to use you for His work and His glory.

God created you to do good works in the name of Jesus.

“For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do” (Ephesians 2:10).

We can never earn or merit our salvation by performing good works (Ephesians 2:8-9). But make no mistake—God created you to do good works!

What a privilege and honor it is to serve Him. He allows us to participate in the greatest work of all time—His work of redeeming the world. It is true that only the blood of Christ can bring about redemption of lost souls. It is also true that God has chosen to use us to take the message of salvation through Jesus to a lost world.

God chooses to use you. This ministry is not just for the so-called “clergy.” This ministry is not just for pastors or elders. This ministry is for all the saints, all those sanctified by the Lord Jesus (Ephesians 4:11-12). This brings real purpose and meaning to our lives when we serve Him. Instead of a mundane existence, our lives have eternal significance.

We have different gifts and different ministries in the body of Christ. Every ministry is important. Together we serve Him and glorify Him.

ERCC is a congregation where we invite everyone to take part in ministry. We want you to join us by using your gifts and talent to serve Him at ERCC.

2-Minute Daily Video Series-Make Disciples of All Nations

Starting August 1st Pastor Wright will be producing daily videos on Youtube. Each video will feature a verse of Scripture and an insight. The duration of each video will be approximately 2 minutes. The theme is the mission that Christ gave his church. Pastor Wright will email a notification with the video link Monday through Friday. If you are not already on the distribution list, then send an email to pastor.mark.a.wright@gmail.com and write: Send me the videos. These videos will challenge you to focus on the mission the Lord Himself gave us.

There will be a baby shower for Josiah and Hannah Langston after church on Sunday August 18th for all who’d like to attend (not just for the ladies). They're expecting a baby girl and Hannah is registered on Amazon.

Launching Outreach to Unchurched Kids

with Guests Samantha and Carl Hein on Sunday Aug 25th

On Sunday August 25th we are launching our outreach to unchurched kids. You will hear the amazing story of Carl & Samantha Hein. They started an outreach to unchurched kids in apartments near their church location in Tulsa. God has blessed this ministry with growth and fruit. Their congregation, Southwood Baptist Church, now has embraced this ministry. Every week approximately 40 unchurched kids participate in the program.

An impressive aspect of their story is that they are not on the church’s staff. They are both school teachers. They are not “paid staff”. Their story shows how God uses people on a grass root level to build his kingdom. Come and hear their story. Pastor Wright will interview them in the 10 am adult worship service as part of the sermon. Then Carl and Samantha will speak in the 6:00 pm adult Bible study.

Sunday, August 11th

For the month of August, the youth at ERCC will be getting together for a Back-to-School Bash and Bible Study! We'll meet in the education building on August 11th from 5:30-7:00 pm. We'll have a short bible study followed by making Bible Verse Reminders to place in the students pencil boxes, cubbies, etc. We'll have pizza, ice cream, and juices as well as games to celebrate our students and get them excited for the upcoming school year.

If your students are planning to attend, please let Caleb know by Friday August 9th. Students of all ages are welcome and high school students who attend can volunteer to receive credit for volunteer hours.

August Sermon Series: "Salt and Light"

In August Pastor Wright will bring a series of messages on the theme “Salt & Light.” God wants to use you to rescue the lost world around you. You are the “Salt” for a world that is perishing. You are the Light for a world lost in darkness. We have a message of eternal life, abundant life and new life. We have a message of hope, peace and life. Come and be challenged!

Linda Wright— with Georgina, a dear friend of Mexico City during mission trip to Mexico

A shoutout to Linda Wright. She serves as a teacher of elementary age children at 9 am in our Sunday Morning Bible Study; Linda assists with church fellowship meals; she has helped with the door-to-door flyer distribution; she has participated in ERCC’s mission trips to Mexico; she helps with the seasonal decorations of our facilities; and she has served in our VBS; Linda also serves as church clerk; she often accompanies her husband when making home calls on ERCC members and attendees. ERCC Facebook Group

We invite you to join our ERCC Facebook Group. It is one of our ministry objectives to use social media to reach more people. This is especially important in relation to young people today.

A few discussion ideas for using this forum are:

  • What's your favorite thing about church?
  • What is your favorite church event?
  • What was your favorite quote from the service last week?
  • Providing a Praise Report on an answered prayer

We also encourage you to post your ERCC pictures on this page.

Prayer Warriors Ministry of Intercession

If you would like to participate in this ministry, please send an email to pastor.mark.a.wright@gmail.com.

Each week we send out a prayer list based on the written prayer requests received in our worship gatherings. Our prayer warriors after receiving this list then go to the heavenly Father in intercessory prayer for these requests of our ERCC family.
