EPIC Conversation with Allen I. Hyman, MD

Allen Hyman, MD, has had a long and distinguished career in research, policy and administration. An anesthesiologist by training, Dr. Hyman was Chief Medical Officer, Medical Director and NewYork-Presbyterian’s first chief of staff. Our conversation will include Dr. Hyman’s service as health-aide to Senator Robert Dole while on a Robert Wood Johnson Health Policy Fellowship. Online EPIC Yoga Every Thursday

10–11am and 11:15am–12:15pm

10–11am Class practices breathing techniques and moves through some basic yoga poses, concentrating on alignment, balance, and flexibility. 11:15am–12:15pm Gentle/chair yoga, ideal for those of more limited mobility or flexibility.


Professor Emerita Ginny Papaioannou, a registered teacher with the Yoga Alliance, leads EPIC Yoga. No prior experience is required to join.

November 1, 12–2pm – Luncheon Talk: Amy Pollack and Robert Pollack will lead a stimulating and unique discussion on their work The Course of Nature, a delightful artistic romp through the nature of natural selection.

 

November 15, 12–2pm – Luncheon Talk: Ellen Gruber Garvey will discuss her fascinating and illuminating work Writing with Scissors: American Scrapbooks from the Civil War to the Harlem Renaissance.
