Summer Withdrawal

We give each of our families the opportunity to withdraw their students for the summer months. We understand that summer is a popular travel time for a lot of people. It's also a time when you may prefer for you kids to be involved in camps or other activities. If you are interested in withdrawing your child for the summer, please submit this Summer Withdrawal Form to your child's teacher or to the ELC office. In order to avoid being charged tuition for the summer months, please submit the form by NEXT WEDNESDAY (5/15). If you are moving to another school or up to the Kindergarten-8th grade, there is an option on the withdraw form to say you will not be returning for next year.

The last day of the 2023-2024 school year is Friday, August 2nd, 2024. The ELC will be closed from August 5th-9th for teacher in-service and classroom preparation, and we will be starting the 2024-2025 school year on Monday, August 12th, 2024.

Thinking Ahead

If you will be remaining with us during the summer, but have vacations planned, please inform your child's teacher ahead of time. This will help with staffing plans.

The class lists and classroom teachers list for the 2024-2025 school year will be announced in July. I shift staff and students around quite a bit before the start of the new school year, so nothing is finalized yet.

Drop off your kids (ages 3yrs* through 5th grade) at St. John's and enjoy a night out! We will also be taking a free-will donation to raise money for our Mission Trip to El Paso/Juarez to build a home, connect with kids, and lead a women's ministry. Thank you in advance for your support!

St. John's Book Swap

Looking for some "new" books for your child to read over the summer break?

St. John's parents will be hosting our first all school Book Swap on Monday, May 13th in the Community Room.

• Drop off new and gently used books May 6-12 in the K-8 office.
• Book Swap Day
• K-8 students will go with their class to choose a book or two. 
• ELC students can go through with their parents at pick-up time. 
• Students and parents are welcome to visit the book swap together after school.

All remaining books will be donated to FISH of East Denver and Children's Hospital Colorado.

We are looking to hire a Full-Time Lead Early Childhood Teacher to be responsible for either a Preschool or a Pre-Kindergarten class for the 2024-2025 school year, with a potential start date in June. St. John's Extended Care is seeking Before and After School Care Program Leaders who love kids! Our Before and After School Care staff works with children in Kinder-8th grades in a group setting. Staff supervise and interact with the children as they play, eat snacks, do homework, use centers, and do STEAM activities. Staff get to love the children, help develop social and emotional skills, and provide a safe and clean environment. We are staffing for January - May 2024, and would like to hire October - December to start training. The pay is $18.00-$19.00 an hour, depending on experience. After school care work hours are from 2:30- 5:45. Before school care is from 6:50am- 8:10am.

Sign-up for ELC Staff Snacks

The PTO would like to have volunteers bring the teachers snacks and cool drinks every other Friday morning. We will put the snacks and drinks out for the teachers, if you will bring them at drop-off or pick-up.

Please, no snacks containing nuts, as we want to be cautious of allergies in the ELC. If you bring individually packaged items, it makes it easier for the teachers to grab snacks and go back to their classrooms.
