Announcing ELAM's 30th Anniversary Celebration!

We’re thrilled to officially announce ELAM’s 30th anniversary celebration, May 1 – 2, 2025! The goals of the event are to celebrate the success of the program and alumnae, strengthen our network, build a culture of philanthropy and sustain women in leadership. All events will take place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Philadelphia.


May 1 will feature a gala dinner with a keynote speaker, awards ceremony, an inspiring visual history of the program, and much more! May 2 will be a day of innovative programming.

Join ELUMs for CommUNITYten! 

The "CommUNITYten: Big Ten Academic Alliance Conference for Women in Medicine and Biomedical Sciences" inaugural conference will be held in Columbus, Ohio from June 7-8, 2024. The purpose of this conference is to bring together women in medicine and the biomedical sciences, including engineering, to share resources, develop institutional cross-collaborations, disseminate and share resources, solicit mentoring/sponsorship, and provide a network for professional support and development. The event is open to all academic faculty, staff, and trainees as well as industry members in the medicine, health science, and biomedical research fields.

Evelyn Y. Anthony, M.D. (ELAM ’20), has been named chair of the department of radiology, University of Florida College of Medicine, effective March 1, 2024.

 

Rebecca Cunningham, MD (ELAM ’17), has been selected as the next president of the University of Minnesota.

 

Carmen Green, MD (ELAM ’05), was featured by The City University of New York in celebration of Black women trailblazers in STEM. She has also had two opinion pieces published, discussing CUNY Medicine’s holistic application process: CUNY Med's mission fits in Black History Month in the NY Daily News and Discrimination embedded in medicine’s early framework endures today in The Washington Post.

 

Katherine Hartmann, MD, PhD (ELAM ’06), has joined the University of Kentucky as the director of the Center for Clinical & Translational Science, an associate VP for research for the university, and associate dean for research development and synergy in the college of medicine.


Katherine Heilpern, MD (ELAM ’03), has been appointed president of Yale New Haven Hospital.
