For the past few months, CEO Sebrone O. Johnson, along with and Dr. Paul Miller, CEO Charter Champions, have hosted guests to discuss challenges facing students and families in the city of Rochester. In a recent episode, they speak with Raheem Miller, director of Security, Safety & Student Discipline at UPREP Charter School for Young Men.
Like many Rochester charter school leaders and teachers, Miller was educated locally and employed by a district school before taking on his current role. Miller shares how UPREP creates a family for young men in our city, providing a place where they can feel safe, leave behind distractions and focus on their education. Listen to the podcast, where they also explore the differences between charters and district schools, charter school building space needs and a call for change to improve education for the children in Rochester: Click here to listen.
