The ECOEA Spring Representative Assembly was held Saturday, April 13, at Stark State College. This is the annual meeting of the district association where the annual budget is approved, elections are held for ECOEA positions, reports from committees, caucuses and representatives for OEA Committees are given. We also heard from OEA Secretary-Treasurer Mark Hill on behalf of the OEA officers. Carol Correthers provided the NEA Directors report. Carol, as chair of the STRS Retirement Board, also provided an update on STRS.
President Juliann Doerschuk presided over her first Representative Assembly. The Invocation was given by Holly Lloyd, Claymont EA.

A vacancy remains in the position of Carroll County Rep to the ECOEA Executive Committee. Please contact the ECOEA office if interested in an appointment to this position. You must be a member of a local in Carroll County.
The Quinn Scholarships were awarded, Internal Organizing Grants and a Public Relations Grant were announced. We honored Guy Kendall-Freas as our Friend of Education for his dedicated work for our members.The assembly endorsed several candidates in OEA statewide races that will be voted on at the OEA Rep Assembly in May.
