CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR LOCAL PRESIDENT IN-PERSON: AUGUST 10th
NOMINATIONS DEADLINE: AUGUST 26th
The position of President, which is currently held by Beatrice Mebude is up for nomination for a term of office of 3 years. The positions of Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Chief Shop Steward are not up for re-election at this time. Be on the lookout for Nominations Forms mailed to your home (or click the below link).

Any member in continuous good standing may nominate any member in continuous good standing, provided that the nominee has been a member of the Chapter in good standing for two (2) years immediately prior to the election and in continuous good standing for one (1) year prior to the date of nominations. If no member of the Chapter has the necessary qualifications for membership, then any member in good standing in the Local Chapter may be nominated.

The nominations will take place on August 10, 2022, from 6:30 AM- 8:00 AM and 2:30 PM-4:00 PM in the 1st Floor Small Classroom. Nominations will be considered closed at 4:00 PM. The Nominating Committee will obtain the consent or refusal of all those nominated. If there are contested positions, a ballot will be prepared and all members in good standing will vote, the results of which will be communicated to the membership. An election will be held at the September General Membership Meeting (details to be announced).

In the event that a candidate is duly nominated and is unopposed, the Nominating Committee shall declare that candidate duly elected and dispense with placing that officer on the Ballot.

In the event that candidates, duly nominated, are unopposed for election, then the secret ballot procedure may be dispensed with and the candidates shall be declared duly elected by the Nominating Committee. Please read the description of each officer’s position and nominate any member that you feel can and would be willing to fulfill these duties.

President Duties: Open For Nomination (Oct. 1, 2022 - Nov. 30, 2025)
• Enforce the Local Chapter Bylaws
• Protect the rights of Local Chapter Members (through the contract)
• Serve as an Ex-officio member of all committees
• Serve as a representative of the Union at meetings with management and represent the Local at JNESO District Council events
• Presides over the Executive Committee
• Participates on the Negotiating Committee (contract negotiations)
• Presides over the General Membership Meetings
