Ready Set Learn

Our Ready Set Learn program aims to prevent summer learning loss by providing free one-to-one tutoring to children during July and August. Children in grades K-6 who struggle in school are referred to us by resource teachers across PEI.

Leadership in Learning

Ready Set Learn provides employment and learning opportunities for youth ages 19-29 who are working toward a career in education or human services. Our program training and work experience contributes to their success as future educators.

We use a mentorship model in our program to best serve our clients and support our new staff. Each year, we hire four returning tutors to be mentors. Mentors receive leadership training and support their mentees in delivering quality literacy, numeracy and social emotional instruction to their students.

I really appreciate the opportunity to gain leadership experience, which I feel strongly will help me in my career."

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a book gifting program that inspires a love of reading in children around the world. Each month, children ages 0-4 who are registered receive a free, high-quality book in the mail to build their home libraries. We administer this program for thousands of families in PEI.

"We are extremely grateful for this program and feel so lucky to be a part of it. This program is changing the lives of so many families."

Born to Read

Through the existing Born to Read program with Health PEI and Public Library Services, we are offering a new book and Imagination Library registration to parents at their child's 2-month immunization appointment.

To date, the Imagination Library program has given 132,227 books to children and families across PEI thanks to increased funding from the Province of PEI, Rotary Clubs and many generous donors.

We are currently accepting registrations for the Imagination Library! Participants must be ages 0-4 and permanent residents of PEI. If you would like to register your child, please click the registration link below.

Adult Learner Awards Program

Our Adult Learner Awards program provides financial support to adults who are returning to school to improve their literacy skills. Each year, we award bursaries to adults who are working toward their GED and scholarships to those who have achieved their GED and are working toward a post-secondary diploma.

Scholarships 2024

Each year, we award three scholarships to adults who have achieved their GED and gone on to pursue a post-secondary diploma.

In May, two Holland College students were awarded $1500 scholarships thanks to one of our Adult Learner Awards Program funders, Master Packaging.

"Going to school is helping me create a stable future for me and my young sons. Thank you for this award, it means more to me than I can put into words."
