Church Sabor and 800 Anniversary celebration of Serbian Orthodox Church/
Сабор 2019 и прослава 800 година аутокефалије СПЦ

SOC in US celebrated its
800th Anniversary on
Sunday, July 14th, 2019,
at
St. Sava Monastery in Libertyville, IL with Divine Liturgy and program.
Church Sabor was held in New Grachanica monastery near Chicago.
Our parish was represented by
Fr. Aleksandar,
Chris Tehlirian as Vice President
and delegate Milica Pogorzelski. Some ten parishioners from Boston parish also took part in celebrating 800 years of autocephaly.

СПЦ у Америци је прославила овај велики јубилеј
у недељу, 14. јула, 2019.,
у манастиру Св. Саве
у Либертивилу
свечаном Литургијом и пригодним програмом.
Такође, у периоду од 13. до 16. јула одржан је Црквени сабор у манастиру Нова Грачаница код Чикага.
Нашу парохију су представљали о. Александар,
Крис Техлириан и
Милица Погорзелски.
Осим њих још десетак наших парохијана је присуствовало прослави.

Visit by Greek youth to our church
|
Members of Greek youth program Cross road
visited our church on July 8th, 2019.
After attending Vespers,
Fr. Aleksandar greeted them and spoke to them
about our parish
and especially about
Serbian Saints Nikolaj and Mardarije.
They were very interested and impressed by the details on our iconostasis.
This program includes
High School juniors and seniors and they try to visit every ethnic parish in Boston area during ten day program hosted by
Holy Cross seminary.

А кад дође на оне стране у земљу гергесинску, сретоше Га два бесна, који излазе из гробова, тако зла да не могаше нико проћи путем оним. И гле, повикаше: Шта је Теби до нас, Исусе, Сине Божји? Зар си дошао амо пре времена да мучиш нас? А далеко од њих пасаше велико крдо свиња. И ђаволи мољаху Га говорећи: Ако нас изгониш, пошљи нас да идемо у крдо свиња. И рече им: Идите. И они изишавши отидоше у свиње. И гле, навали сво крдо с брега у море, и потопише се у води. А свињари побегоше; и дошавши у град казаше све, и за бесне. И гле, сав град изиђе на сусрет Исусу; и видевши Га молише да би отишао из њиховог краја.
И ушавши у лађу пређе и дође у свој град.

5th Sunday after Pentecost
When He had come to the other side, to the country of the Gergesenes, there met Him two demon-possessed men, coming out of the tombs, exceedingly fierce, so that no one could pass that way. And suddenly they cried out, saying, “What have we to do with You, Jesus, You Son of God? Have You come here to torment us before the time?” Now a good way off from them there was a herd of many swine feeding. So the demons begged Him, saying, “If You cast us out, permit us to go away into the herd of swine.” And He said to them, “Go.” So when they had come out, they went into the herd of swine. And suddenly the whole herd of swine ran violently down the steep place into the sea, and perished in the water. Then those who kept them fled; and they went away into the city and told everything, including what had happened to the demon-possessed men. And behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus. And when they saw Him, they begged Him to depart from their region.
So He got into a boat, crossed over, and came to His own city.
