CARLOS GILBERT SWIM TEAM BEGINS FRIDAY,

March 8th. FIRST COME FIRST SERVE. Limited to the 1st 25 kids who sign their forms and pass swim team tryouts.

WHO: 1st through 6th grade children who can swim one full 25-meter length of the pool non-stop utilizing only one stroke (kid’s choice!) and unassisted. These are not swim lessons. Swim team tryouts will take place on the first day of practice, and coaches will determine the kids that are ready for swim team. Additionally, EVERY kid on the team needs to commit to being present for the swim meet, held on Saturday, April 27th.

WHERE: Practices are at Salvador Perez

COST: $25 per child. Cash or check payable to Carlos Gilbert PTK and includes an awesome Swim Team T-Shirt.

BRING: Your Mom or Dad on the first day (They have to sign liability waivers before

you may enter the water. The City of Santa Fe is strictly enforcing this rule.) Swimsuit,

Goggles, Hair Tie, Non-Glass Water Bottle and a Towel. Please also bring fins if you have them. Make sure all equipment is labeled with your child’s name.

NEEDED: Parent Volunteers for the practices and the meet.

ASSISTANT COACH NEEDS: We would love extra coaching help at practices – let us know if you are available to help out!

Art Show

Our art teacher Ms. Acker we will be having an art show on March 7th the same night as the 6th grade musical this year. The art show will be open from 5:30pm - 7:30pm, and the musical will run from 6-7pm. This will allow time for students and families to observe the art before and after the musical. The art show will be all grade levels and will be located throughout the downstairs floor of the school. 

CGE Donation Drive for Animal Shelters

Hello Carlos Gilbert Blackhawks!

We are on the move again to spread some love!

We are going to have a donation drive for the animal shelters.

We are collecting new and gently used (and clean) items to show kindness.

Some items we are accepting is:

-Food- (dog, cat, guinea pig hay)

-Blankets

-Sheets

-Towels

-Leashes

-Toys

-Collars

-Money

Help us to gather items for some animals until they can find their furever home.

Donations can be dropped off in the white baskets in from of Mrs. Quintana's and Mrs. Stark's room. We will be collecting until February 29th.
