We had another special day this past Sunday as we honored those who have fallen (killed, died, missing, or prisoner) in military service to our country. Recognizing the fallen kin of our church family members makes our observance more personal.
Another thing that made Sunday special was that we welcomed Terry and Lisa Rhudy in the 11:00 service on promise of Letter. Lisa has been a part of our hand bell choir for the past couple of years. I know they will jump right into the life of our church and seek places of service.
With the arrival of Memorial Day, we have unofficially kicked off summer! The official first day of summer is June 20th, but with the kids out of school and the arrival of heat and humidity, I think it is safe to say that summer is here! With it comes a busy church summer schedule. Our youth will be traveling to their camp at Shocco Springs, Alabama the week of June 13th, and our children will hold their camp at Waukaway Springs Christian Retreat near Vossburg the week of June 21st. Then, the first round of VBS (4 years – 2nd Grade) will be from 6:00 – 8:00pm June 27-30. The 2nd round for older children (grades 3-6) will be July 11-14 from 6:00-8:30pm. Also, Janice and I will be attending the SBC Annual Meeting in Nashville June 14-17.
Speaking of the summer schedule, the Nominating Committee, Committee on Committees, and Finance Committees are busily getting their committee reports and proposed budget ready for our annual business meeting in August. It takes a lot of people to make a church work! Thank you for your part!
Blessed to be Your Pastor!
