March 9, 2021
From the Pastor
Our worship services total attendance continues to grow. The 8:30 service (60+) attendance was up 30% this past Sunday as many have received their 2nd COVID vaccine and were able to return. It is exciting to see evidence that we have “turned the corner” on new COVID infections and to hope that we will all be able to regather for worship soon!

To provide ample room, we will have 3 worship services on Easter - 8:00, 9:30, and 11:00. There are two things to note: 1) The regular 8:30 service for 60+ will be moved back one half-hour to 8:00. The ropes limiting seating to 50% of capacity will still be in place for that service only. 2) There will be no Sunday School that day. These changes are for Easter only. The following Sunday, April 11th, we will return to our normal schedule with Sunday School.

Speaking of April 11th… Pigeon Forge will come to Picayune! Evangelist, singer, entertainer, and sportsman Kenny Evans will be with us in both services. When not on the road, Kenny has a regular show in Pigeon Forge.  Born into a music family, as a child Kenny sang in a quartet with his father, brother, and younger sister. “The Evans Family Quartet toured the southeast doing concerts at churches, festivals, and theatres and also made guest appearances with Archie Campbell at the live Hee-Haw theatre in Pigeon Forge, TN.” As an adult, Kenny embarked on a promising singing and recording career that involved a grueling tour schedule that would put him on the road for more than 250 days a year as the opening act for some of country music’s biggest stars including Kenny Chesney, Charlie Daniels, Lonestar, Sara Evans, Toby Keith, Tracy Byrd and many others. After signing a record deal in Nashville and releasing his first album, “When You Love Somebody,” tragedy struck when Kenny and his band were almost killed in a road accident while on tour. God used that experience to change Kenny’s life with a call to ministry. Now Kenny uses his talents to serve the Lord. On April 11th he will sing and share his remarkable testimony in both services. Learn more about Kenny at www.kennyevans.org. Please make plans to attend and invite your friends and neighbors!

I love the family of God at RPBC!
