The Lord blessed us with another wonderful day of worship this past Sunday. Our attendance continues to steadily creep up. With the weather getting warmer (people are outside more) and more of the population past the 2nd round of vaccines, I believe people will become more and more comfortable in returning to church. Listen to my heart carefully as I say this: If you have had to stay home and worship with us via livestream due to risk factors and health concerns for you and/or your loved ones, I completely understand and even encourage you in that to protect yourself. I recognize that you have had to make hard decisions and adjustments. I even want to thank those who have been exposed or didn’t feel well, and have self-quarantined out of an abundance of caution. We are still ONE faith family worshipping together each week. We miss you and long for the day when we will all be back together. But, if you have used the COVID threat as an excuse to take a break from church, then know that the doors and our arms are open wide (even though we may not be able to hug you just yet!). We hope you come home soon.
Folks, plans are being made for youth summer camp, children’s camp, children / preschool Easter egg hunt, VBS, Kids DNOW, and a children’s fishing day / tea party! Our children and youth will soon have their church, Association, and State Bible Drill. We are seeing record numbers of students on Wednesday nights and are making plans to provide them more space. We are having worship services, Sunday School, Prayer Meeting, RAs/GAs/ Mission Friends, Mini Youth (5th & 6th grades), student Bible study groups, college Bible study group, praise bands/teams, hand bells, contact volunteers working, and prayer partners. Plus, by the grace of God, we have baptized close to 20 children and youth since the first of the year! God has not stopped working! “But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working” (John 5:17, NKJV).
I love my church family!
