It is with sadness that I learned of the death of Ray Gaddy early Sunday morning. But, it was with rejoicing that I pictured his home-going, free from the physical pain of this earthly body. When a saint goes home, I wonder what they are seeing. I try to imagine what heaven sounds like; what it smells like. Whom do we encounter first? How soon before we get to see and talk to our loved ones who have gone on before us? What will it be like to see Jesus? Will we have a conversation with Him? I have so many questions. But, one thing I know for sure: the Bible says that whatever I think, whatever I imagine, heaven will be so much more!
A Celebration of Life memorial service for Mr. Ray will be held at RPBC at 1:00pm Wednesday, September 9th.
Thank you for everyone who signed up for a prayer vigil spot. We filled all of our time slots in one day! Now, let’s work on getting multiple people praying in each time slot. Our record is 120 people participating in a prayer vigil. Right now we have 83 committed after 1 day! Let’s put it over the top!
This 24-hour prayer vigil will precede a prayer rally in support of Franklin Graham’s call for a Prayer March in Washington, D.C. on September 26th. We will gather on the grass behind the Fellowship Hall at 11:00am Saturday, September 26th, for a time of worship and prayer in behalf of our nation. You may visit PrayerMarch2020.com for more information on the Washington Prayer March. You may also order your own Prayer March 2020 T-shirt from that site, if you would like one. I hope you will make plans to participate with us!
I still need people who are available and willing to help with our Contact Ministry. You will be provided with names, addresses and phone numbers for church members to contact. As soon as we get 20 volunteers (or more!), guidelines and a contact list will be sent to you. Let’s get it done!
Supplies and cash donations are still being collected for the #hope4merryville hurricane Laura relief project. You may drop them by the church office anytime. You may stay abreast of needs and news by liking the hope4merryville Facebook page.
To God be the Glory!
