I was so excited to baptize William Wilbanks and Madalynn Secondine yesterday! Madalynn is Janice and my youngest granddaughter. She has been so overjoyed about her salvation. When she came forward a couple of weeks ago for her profession of faith, she asked if she could tell everyone herself!
It was also special yesterday to be able to recognize our active duty and veteran military personnel in honor of Veterans Day (this coming Wednesday, November 11th). It was an added treat to have the joint JROTC Color Guard representing Hancock High and Pearl River Central High lead us in the posting of the colors, the National Anthem, and the Pledge of Allegiance. We are grateful for Petty Officer 1st Class Ty Elam, Petty Officer 2nd Class Jaxon Harrelson, 1st Lieutenant Hunter Harrelson, Major Ethan Dobbs, and Seaman Recruit Sawyer Harrelson. The Harrelson’s are sons of Amanda and Jeremiah Cloy, recent additions to our faith family here at RPBC. These fine young men performed their duty as a color guard as professionally as I have ever seen it done.
As we continue to take steps in normalizing our ministries and programming, I announced yesterday that we WILL have our Ladies Luncheon on the first Saturday in December. Seating will be limited, so ladies get your tickets early!
Folks, I’m only stating the obvious to say that the election was a great disappointment for many of us. If the outcome projected by mainstream media holds up, our country needs your prayers more than ever. Please pray NOW, as the balance of power in the Senate hinges on the election outcome in Georgia. That said, we recognize that the mission of the Church has not changed. Don’t let your disappointment turn to bitterness. We need to be influencers for Christ in this world, and live with gratitude for all He has done for us. No reserve (our hope is not in temporal things), no retreat (our bridges are burnt, and we will not retreat), and no regret. Regret is the enemy of thankfulness. Give God thanks in all things!
With Thankfulness,
Dan
