Thank you to all who made the services this past Sunday so special! The Memorial Day tribute was moving, the Baccalaureate Service was awesome, and in between we enjoyed a delicious luncheon with the graduating seniors and their families! With many being out of town for the holiday, our attendance was down a little from last week. But, the 2pm Baccalaureate Service was near our temporarily adjusted capacity! I believe our services this coming Sunday will be our best attended yet since the COVID suspension.
A couple of weeks ago I reported that we had missed our Annie Armstrong goal of $5000 – the first time in 4 years. Well, shortly after more was given, and we ended our emphasis with $6118! Thank you for your faithful giving! Through this past Sunday, $840 has been given toward our Baptist Children’s village offering. This is a special offering normally taken on Mother’s Day. We typically make it our May mission emphasis, which will end this coming Sunday.
Please be in prayer with us as we are asking God for a discerning spirit to know when to resume Sunday School, and our Wednesday evening and Sunday evening services. We are hoping to recommence them soon, but are concerned with maintaining the safety of all concerned.
This Sunday I am planning to begin a sermon series on 1&2 Samuel, emphasizing the life of David. I hope you will be able to join us in-person! If not, don’t forget our livestream service at 11:00am.
On a final note, please remember the family of Karen Myers, wife of our Pearl River Baptist Association Mission Director Carl Myers. Karen’s father, Monk Mitchell, went to be with the Lord due to COVID-19 complications.
Our God is an Awesome God!
