From the Pastor
This past Sunday, Rhys and I expressed our appreciation to everyone who had a part in making the Mississippi Baptist Convention Board’s 2023 Region 5 Impact training event such an awesome success. Our region had the highest attendance of all the regions, and we were told that our church did the best job at hosting the event of all the regions. That is high praise for all of our volunteers, and it was well-deserved. I was so proud of everyone who stepped up to help, as well as those who came to receive the training. Sunday I recognized those who helped set up and tear down, decorate, prepare and serve food, and served as hosts / hostesses in assisting our guests. In addition, I want to thank our office staff and custodians for their extra work and attention to detail. I also want to thank our security volunteers. As always, they worked behind the scenes to provide security inside and outside. Those who worked outside were soaked with sweat, but were glad to serve. Finally, I want to thank Rhys who, as Minister of Education, was tasked with making our event the success it was. RPBC volunteers are the best!

The Committee on Committee and Nominating Committee Reports were adopted this past Wednesday evening, and the Finance Committee’s budget for church year 2023-2024 was adopted Sunday. Our new church year begins on September 1st. I want to thank all of the respective committee members who worked hard to prepare us for another church year.  And, I want to thank all those who have volunteered to fill our organizational positions. We couldn’t function without you!

This Sunday we will continue with our series from the book of Philippians. Paul wrote, “Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus” (2:5). How can we know we have the attitude of Christ? What does it look like? Come see what God’s word has to say to us!

You are Loved!
