Sunday was a historical day in the life of RPBC as we acknowledged our nation’s 247th birthday, and dedicated our new gym to God who gave it to us. We counted a worship attendance of 340, with more than 250 staying for dinner-on-the-grounds. I want to thank the PRC NJROTC Honor Guard for the presentation of the Colors; Cadet Ensign Sawyer Harrelson, Cadet Chief Petty Officer Alexis Brayson, Cadet Chief Petty Officer Ethan Mitchell, and Cadet Petty Officer 1st Class Jaron Bourgeois; and Milly Luckie for leading in the pledges.
There were so many people whose contributions made our celebrations Sunday such a success that I am not going to attempt to list their names, because I know that I will inadvertently leave someone out. Thank you to everyone who planned, prepared, set-up, took-down, decorated, cleaned up, prepared and served food, took pictures, researched, arranged, printed, produced, toted, and gophered!
I also want to thank the choir, praise team, instrumentalists, Scripture readers, and media technicians for a great worship experience.
In addition, I want to thank the Concept / Building Committee for accepting your role and working tirelessly until the end to provide a wonderful gym that will serve this church for generations to come. Committee members were Charlie Culver (chm), Angela Chambliss, Bob Hancock, Kyle Drennan, Byron Hill, and Shane Nicholson. In addition, Josh Miltier, Joey Mitchell, and Kyle Drennan designed, procured, assembled, and setup all of the necessary media to make having special services in the gym possible.
Charlie Culver, committee chairman, was our on-site representative who was primarily responsible for coordinating with the general contractor and his subs. Charlie spent countless hours overseeing the entire operation and pitching in when needed to get things done and keep the schedule - and budget - on track. He was closely helped by Byron Hill and Kyle Drennan (assisted by Jennifer!). And, whenever labor was needed to sweep the floors, assemble equipment, or help in other ways to save the church money, Charlie was always able to pull together several volunteers whose labors were of tremendous value.
Also, thank you to everyone who gave obediently and generously. For our church to raise over $1 million dollars in 5 months to enable us to build this magnificent facility debt-free, is truly a miracle from God. And, He performed it through His obedient people who received His vision.
Finally, we all lift our praise to God who has blessed us beyond measure. I believe we have only caught a glimpse of all that God wants to do though this church if we will only keep our eyes on Him and continue to walk by faith.
And, as your pastor, I am humbled that you trusted this was of God and supported this project fully.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen” (Ephesians 3:20-21).
