From the Pastor
Yesterday was another great day of worship as we welcomed Ray and Dawn Lopez into our church family at the 8:30 service. They come on promise of letter from Horeb Baptist Church in Gretna, Louisiana. Please take time to meet them and welcome them into our family.

This Sunday we will have a BBQ luncheon for young singles, young couples, and young families (children 6th grade and under) following the 11:00 worship service. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Greg Wilton, Dean of Leveall College at the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. Greg is also the son of Dr. Don Wilton, former Senior Pastor of FBC Spartanburg, South Carolina and who was known as Billy Graham’s pastor. Our young adults are welcomed and encouraged to invite their young adult friends!

Former White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany, in her new book "Serenity in the Storm: Living Through Chaos by Leaning on Christ," references a comment made by philosopher J.P. Moreland, Ph.D., to journalist Lee Strobel. Moreland tells Strobel, "There’s one category of evidence you haven’t asked about…. It’s the ongoing encounter with the resurrected Christ that happens all over the world, in every culture, to people from all kinds of backgrounds and personalities—well-educated and not, rich and poor, thinkers and feelers, men and women. They all will testify that more than any single thing in their lives, Jesus Christ has changed them." I would have to say, “Amen!” to that. When a person surrenders to Jesus, He changes their heart, changes their life, and even changes their desires. Now, go make a difference in your sphere of influence this week!

You Are Loved!
