Sunday was a great day! Rodney Jones, who is on the headquarters staff of The Gideons International in Nashville, was our guest speaker. Rodney did a wonderful job in sharing what the Gideons are doing in China, Ukraine, and other locations. The total collected Sunday was $2320. Thank you church!
The deacons met Sunday afternoon. On their agenda was the election of officers for this year. Albert Lee and Mickey Clogher were re-elected to serve as chairman and vice-chairman, respectively. Chris Stockstill was elected to serve as secretary. I appreciate our deacons and their servant’s hearts. Our widows’ ministry is one of the greatest ministries of our church. A portion of each deacons’ meeting is spent on giving reports on this ministry. It is a joy to serve with these men.
On this Sunday, February 12th, at 5:00pm, Brian Tyndall will be here to provide information on a Holy Land tour of Israel that is scheduled for December 28 – January 6. If you or anyone you know has any interest whatsoever in going, please plan to be here to get information on the trip! We will meet in the Fellowship Hall.
Work on the gym is progressing rapidly. Although you can’t see it from the outside, the carpenters have been busy framing up the walls on the inside. On Sunday, February 19th, you will have an opportunity to enter with your Sunday School class and write Scripture verses on the framing, steel columns, and floor. We will supply the markers. Once the sheetrock and flooring have been installed, these Scripture verses will remain as an unseen vanguard on this building God has so graciously provided!
