We began Sunday by rejoicing in the decision handed down by the U.S. Supreme Court that reversed the Roe v. Wade abortion ruling that has been a sinful blight on our nation since 1973. However, we were soon reminded that Satan doesn’t take a holiday! Although our youth had a great summer camp last week, we began to get reports early Sunday morning that some of our youth and chaperones had come home with COVID. Campers and parents were notified, and the students and adults who went on the trip were asked to stay home and quarantine. As a result, we had to reschedule Bro. Brad and Lori’s staff anniversary recognition (10 years and 5 years, respectively) to next Sunday, July 3rd, and VBS to the week of July 11th. That means that the VBS decorations on the Sanctuary platform will not be down for this coming Sunday, which means that we cannot have our patriotic choir musical this Sunday, July 3rd, as we had planned. So:
· Recognition of Brad and his family’s 10th anniversary at RPBC rescheduled to July 3
· VBS has been rescheduled to July 11 - 15
· The patriotic-themed choir musical has been rescheduled to July 17
Also, since the potential contact between youth and chaperones could be widespread with extended family throughout the congregation, we will not have any services or activities this Wednesday, June 29th.
On a happier note, I have been told of at least 2 of our youth who prayed to receive Jesus as Savior at camp, and many others made rededications. I will try to schedule a time soon, when Rhys can give a report on their experience to the church.
After Sunday, the total donations and pledges for constructing our gym stand at $841,761. This leaves us $108,239 away from breaking ground! Hopefully, it won’t be long now! Thank you to everyone who has given so faithfully.
He is Lord !
