From the Pastor
The Lord blessed us with another great day of worship this past Sunday! David Grantham of the Bogalusa Camp was our Gideon speaker. David challenged us to be individually faithful to the Great Commission and look for opportunities to share the Gospel. I love one story in particular that he told. He said that someone challenged the effectiveness of his sharing the Gospel on college campuses where he is often ridiculed, debated, shouted down, and faces protests. The person asked, “How many people do you actually lead to Jesus?” David’s reply was, “All of them. I lead them all to know the Jesus of the Bible. What they do with that information is up to them!” We are only responsible for telling others. We are not responsible for their decisions. Donations you gave at the door totaled $1240. This will buy 248 full Bibles, 992 New Testaments, or some combination of both. Many will be led to Jesus through these Bibles. Thank you for generously giving!

The most exciting part of the day was the 2 decisions made public! Matthew Koepp (Greg and Paulette Koepp) made his profession of faith at the 8:30 service, and Sal Mistrestta (Katie Kirkland) made his profession of faith at the 11:00 service. Please welcome them to the family when you see them!

We received a Cooperative Program CHAMPION certificate from the Mississippi Baptist Convention recognizing us as a “Top 100 Cooperative Program Giving Church” for 2021. There are over 2100 SBC churches in Mississippi. That means that we were in the top 5% in the state for our undesignated giving. Folks, do you realize that we haven’t passed the offering plates in over 2 years, and I haven’t preached a message on tithing in at least that long?! Thank you for being faithful stewards. Praise God from Whom all blessing flow!

Don’t forget that next Sunday is the beginning of Daylight Savings Time. Set your clocks AHEAD one hour before you go to bed Saturday night (“Spring forward.”) We will remind you at the Joseph Habedank concert Saturday night. Don’t forget to get your tickets. Come for the music. Come for the fellowship. Come for the worship!

You are loved!
