From the Pastor
The Lord blessed us with another great day of worship this past Sunday! I want to thank Chloe Hollan, Braydon Stebel, Anna Kate Breland, and Aiden Miltier for assisting with my sermon by placing the Mary and Joseph figures in our Nativity Scene. At the 11:00 service we rejoiced with the profession of faith made by Mason Beech!

I want to thank all those who had a part in preparing and decorating our Sanctuary for the Christmas season. When I name names, I’m aware that I always run the risk of leaving someone out. If I fail to mention you, please know that it was unintentional and does not diminish your part in making our Sanctuary so beautiful. Thank you to Bri Abercrombie, Debbie Weaver, Misha Ashe, Samantha Nicholson, Roger Whitney, Bettie Herrin Stakes, Charlie Culver, Doug Johnson, and Damon Devore. Once again I am reminded of how many people are needed to keep us functioning. Thank you to everyone who steps up and steps out!

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch and her staff are preparing to defend the state’s 15-week abortion ban before the U.S. Supreme Court this Wednesday, December 1st. In its brief filed July 22nd, Mississippi asked the Supreme Court to uphold its abortion ban and overturn Roe vs. Wade.

Mississippi has some of the most restrictive abortion laws in the country - including state-mandated counseling, a mandatory delay period, and a ban on telemedicine for abortion care. Our Mississippi legislature passed a 15-week pre-viability abortion ban that was signed into law by the Governor, but it has been overturned in federal court. That ruling was then upheld in federal appeals court. However, if Mississippi is successful in its challenge before the U.S. Supreme Court, we are one of 12 states with trigger bans, intended to prohibit abortion entirely if Roe vs. Wade is overturned.

I’m asking that we as a church set aside this Wednesday, December 1st, as a day of prayer and fasting in behalf of Attorney General Fitch and her legal team. This designated time will be from sunup to sundown (approx. 6am to 6pm). It is time America ended this legalized infanticide that is abhorrent to God and has brought shame to our nation.

God’s Word is Truth!
