The summer fun just keeps coming! Thank you to everyone who attended our Annual Community Day and Parade this past weekend. It was so great to see all of our residents and their families, friends, and neighbors, lined up along Wilson Mills Road in anticipation of the parade. We ended the day long event with a spectacular fireworks display. Many thanks to our Community Day Committee members, Anthony DeLisio, Council Representative, Ward 3, Justin Ketchem, Chairperson, Mark Damankos, Kristen Morelli, Tony Nicolli, Sarah Tobin, and Jen Willins. In addition, I would like to thank all of our generous Community Day Sponsors for their support.

I would also like to recognize our 2024 Grand Marshall, Andy Isabella. Andy is currently playing in the NFL for the Buffalo Bills as a wide receiver and special teams player. Andy and his family are longtime residents of Highland Heights and we could not have been more excited that he was able to be in town to be a part of our celebration. We wish Andy all the best in his upcoming season.

Our next big event is Safety Services Night, which will be held this Thursday, July 25th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at the Highland Heights Community Center and parking lot. Bring the whole family to meet our First Responders and staff members from the Police, Fire, and Service Departments. Equipment and large vehicles will be on display, and free hot dogs, snacks, and giveaways will be available. Police Chief, Dennis Matejcic, Fire Chief, William Turner, Service Director, Brian Belfiore, and their staff look forward to meeting you.

Our next Music at the Gazebo will be held on Wednesday, July 31st from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. and will feature Light of 2 Moons. I will be on site grilling hot dogs for all in attendance. Grab your chairs and blankets and join me for an enjoyable evening of classic rock, blues, and country music tunes.

Save the date for my State of the City Address, which will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024, beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chamber. I will provide a 2023 State of the City report and you will have an opportunity meet our City Council members, Department Heads, and representatives from our outreach organizations.

We have had a fantastic summer and I hope you will plan to join us for our upcoming events.

Sincerely,
Chuck Brunello, Jr.
Mayor/Safety Director

From the Highland Heights Building Department

As summer projects are taking place, please remind your contractors that work cannot start before 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and 8:00 a.m. on Saturdays . All work for the day must end by 6:00 p.m. Sunday work is not permitted.

Also, please ensure sure that landscapers clean up the street after cutting lawns. If grass is left in the street, this clogs the storm sewer that could cause backup on the system.

Please contact the Building Department if you have any questions or concerns.
