From the City of Sea Isle City

September 21, 2023

MAYOR'S MESSAGE

This past weekend was a very busy one here in Sea Isle City. The weekend started with a special Remembrance Ceremony on Friday night, which was hosted by the members of VFW Post 1963’s Auxiliary in honor of National POW-MIA Recognition Day. I was privileged to be invited to speak during the ceremony; and it was also wonderful to see that our local Boy and Girl Scout Troops participated in the event too (just as they do at many community gatherings). I am very grateful to Post 1963’s Auxiliary for honoring our nation’s prisoners of war and our military members who are still missing in action, and I am also thankful to all of the people who were in the audience on Friday evening. –Thank you all!

HYDRANT FLUSHING

A Message From

Sea Isle City's Water Department

During the months of October and November, the Sea Isle City Water Department will be flushing-out the water distribution system through the fire hydrants and exercise water valves throughout town. Semi-annual hydrant flushing is required to ensure that hydrants and the water distribution systems are functioning properly and can provide the proper drinking water quality (thus providing adequate water flow when needed). This is also a requirement for the Water Quality Accountability Act.  If a hydrant is being flushed near your home or business, we encourage you to avoid using washing machines, dishwashers or other water using devices during flushing operations. Residents can expect very little disruption in their water service - if any. However, low water pressure and possible water discoloration may occur. In the event of discoloration, simply allow water to run from the tap for a short while until clear. These conditions are not harmful and are usually short term. For additional info, phone 609-263-6000 (ext. 11) or email: dteefyjr@seaislecitynj.us.
