ANNUAL MEETING JAN. 28

ANNUAL MEETING IS SUNDAY, JAN. 28

This Sunday, January 28 after the 10 am service we will hold the annual parish meeting. The meeting will be both in person and on Zoom. Click here for the Zoom link, which will be available at 11 am that day. The Zoom details are also on the calendar event found on our website calendar. We will enable a waiting room for Zoom, so be patient we'll let you into the meeting as quickly as possible. For those attending in person, light snacks will be served and there will be copies of the meeting documents available.

There will be an Annual Meeting page on our website that will go live on Sunday morning. On that page we will have all the documents for the Business Meeting and the 2024 Magazine. The Zoom link will also be on that page. Again, the annual meeting page will not be available until Sunday morning!

Click here for an updated Vestry & Delegate slate.

Click here for a PDF of 2023 Annual Magazine booklet from last year's meeting.

There will be no childcare for the annual meeting. However, there will be a children's activity.

WHAT's UP @EMMANUEL!

Sunday, February 4 at 9 am, WG high school student, Samantha Enlund will join us. Samantha is working on a project concerning racially restrictive covenants. For several years Webster Groves has had an affordable housing initiative, which launched community discussions around racially restrictive housing covenants and how many still exist.

Samantha's work, which is supported by StL Changemakers and WG Mayor and Council, is to assist homeowners in knowing if their location has a restrictive covenant, and if you choose, to disavow the covenant. Samantha is also the granddaughter of Mary Jane and Rick Kuhn! Click here to read about Webster Groves' initiative.

NEW YEAR things to know!

Did you know we have a member page on our website? On the member page you can download birthdays and anniversaries, updated directory and other proprietary documents. To access that page, you must register. We'll get notified and then allow you access.

Did you know you can submit a pic of you or your family and we'll add it to the directory? Email your updated or new pic to Mimi Shipp.

Did you know that if you don't see your birthday listed in the monthly birthday and anniversary list then, we don't have it! Email that info to Mimi Shipp!

Did you know that we pay a fee on all credit card payments? We love that many of you donate online and we remind you that if you choose to, you may pay the credit card fee, which is approx. 3%. There is no fee for ACH (direct from your bank). Now you know the facts! Thank you!

We are saddened by the fire that destroyed Harvest Wind LLC a woman owned enterprise located in Parmelee, SD. Harvest Wind LLC provides jobs to many of the women who live on or near Rosebud Reservation.

Several of you have asked how to get Quilt Raffle tickets if you don't go to Wednesday night dinner. Or if you can simply donate to help Harvest Wind. Here's how:

Tickets are $5 each and you can donate using the Special Gifts link and selecting Harvest Wind. Once you donate, please email or call Mimi Shipp and let her know the # of tickets or if it's donation only. Mimi will fill your ticket(s) for you. Or you can call Mimi at 314-961-2393 x209.

PEACE MEAL

St. John's Episcopal Church in Tower Grove is a small but mighty parish that provides a weekly Saturday meal to anyone in the neighborhood in need. Emmanuel is one of several churches who assist with preparing and packaging meals and our next volunteer day is Saturday, February 17 from 2 pm to 6 pm. There are two two-hour shifts; 2-4 and 4-6. We enlist help from St. Mark's StL and Faith Christian Church of India. In February we need 4-6 more volunteers. This is a great activity for families with older kids too! If you are able to help, please let Katie Gregston know!

Emmanuel Prays

The new Emmanuel Prays Ministry ensures that everyone on the intercessory list is prayed for every day by their Emmanuel family. That is a way we can love and honor all those who need prayers for as long as they need our prayers.

If you would like to be a part of this special way of praying for Emmanuel, please let Rev. Sujanna know. Anyone is welcome to pray the list at any time whether part of Emmanuel Prays group or just as an individual. Being intentional about holding someone in prayer or even just saying their name aloud can be powerful for both those for whom we pray as well as those who are praying.
