Criminal Justice Supported Recovery (CJSR) peer certification

Ben Deeb served as a Subject Matter Expert during the formal CJSR development process, and partnered with Debra Rhoades to develop approved role training for the certification.

Peer Supervision Professional (PSP)

"I honestly haven't been this excited for a credential since my masters degree ceremony." (Lisa Hope)

PSP is for professionals who supervise peers. Role experience required.

Ben Deeb's experience leading the Incarcerated Peer Recovery Initiative in the Saratoga County Correctional Facility which supports incarcerated individuals seeking recovery has informed every aspect of the NYCB Crinimal Justice Supported Recovery peer certification, including his service on the Subject Matter Expert panel developing the certification's role competence.

Partnering with fellow NYCB Trainer Registry member, Debra Rhoades, he has developed the original role training for the certification. Partnering with the state agency, OASAS, he and Deb are delivering four sponsored community-based certification-ready training from June through September.

Lisa Hope of Prepared Trainings, who facilitated an emotional workshop at this month's QCC-CUNY Annual Peer Conference, is one of four NYCB Trainer Registry members awarded the first Peer Supervision Professional certifications .

She joins colleagues:

  • Joseph Alli, IAP Training
  • Ginger Cato, RC Recovery Center
  • Alex Cropo, FLACRA

Four trainers have been approved to deliver original PSP Role Training via ZOOM: Lori Drescher and Lisa Nichols of Recovery Coach University, and Toby Haskins and Towana Rowser Brown.
