Palmetto Dunes Landscape update

We would like to thank the homeowners who reported issues with their landscaping. Over the next few weeks, we will be working on:

21850 Palmetto Dunes - Replace sod (215 sq. ft.) by sidewalk.

21750 - Replace sod (85 sq. ft.) by entryway

21700 - Replace dead palm in atrium with (1) 25# European Fan Palm

21780 - Replace dead sod in triangle bed with multicolored granite. Dig out old sod/soil so that the rock can be just at the lip of the concrete.

7880 Classics Court - Replace sod (75 sq. ft.) area where oak tree was removed.

7891 - Replace sod (1,200 sq. ft.) at front of building

7891 - Remove dead Bottlebrush tree. Add plants where dead sod is by entry way. Will add (3) 7# Croton magnificent and (5) 3# boxwood beauty Carissa.

DO YOU HAVE LANDSCAPE ISSUES? Please send us an e-mail (not text message or phone call) with your address, description, and photo is possible, of what you believe needs to be corrected. These will be looked into on a monthly basis. And NO, we are not taking down your oak tree.

Current neighborhood-wide approved projects include:

We will finish the project of replacing the Podocarpus shrubs in the front corners of the garages (facing the street), where needed. We will also replace the older Ixoras with new Dwarf Ixoras in between the two Podocarpus shrubs, directly beneath the garage windows. This should be finished in early February.

We will be trimming the Guava, Bottlebrush, and Clusia (Pitch Apple) trees in the January/February time period.

We will be trimming the oak trees along the street and the mahogany trees (center rear of buildings) in the March/April time frame.

Future 2024 projects

The six trial plantings along the sidewalk to upper units have been completed. Once we see which ones work best, we will determine how to proceed with the remaining 33 units.

We will look into replacing the mulch and adding gravel along the side of the buildings where the A/C units and drain pipes are. This will protect our A/C drain pipes and hot water heater drain pipes from being covered with mulch in the future.

We are also looking at adding gravel between the garage and Ixora plants around the sewer back-up and clean out pipes. Again, this should protect them from being covered with mulch in future years.
