FRAUD ALERT

Dear Member:

Multiple members have reported receiving emails claiming to be from Duke Credit Union’s “Fraud Department” or “Fraud Security Unit.” For example, an email or a caller may claim that your account or debit/credit card has been compromised, ask you for personal information, ask you for your login credentials or your card numbers, to verify your identity and “reset” your account.

If you get a call or email that resembles this scenario, please do not give out any personal information. You should never click on links in emails to “submit a form” or “ticket” that requires entering your personal information.

Duke Credit Union will never call, email or text and ask you for your login credentials or your card numbers. If you are ever unsure if you are speaking to Duke Credit Union and not a fraudster, end the call immediately. Do not do a redial of the caller’s number, instead contact the Credit Union by entering the Credit Union’s number directly yourself (919) 684-6704. A redial could appear as the Credit Union’s number but be spoofed. A spoofed call is one that shows up on your caller ID from Duke Credit Union but in reality is coming from a fraudster with a different phone number.

NEVER give out any of the following details in response to unexpected or suspicious emails, calls or texts.

  • Account Numbers
  • Social Security Numbers
  • Mother's Maiden Names
  • Passwords
  • Other Identifying Information

Duke Credit Union has fraud prevention measures in place. You can join us in monitoring your accounts by setting up your own account balance and transaction alerts. Thank you for partnering with Duke Credit Union to keep your accounts safe.

To report fraud on a Duke Credit Union account, contact (919) 684-6704
