STEM Signing Day Awardees |
Message From Dr. Stephanie Hart, Director of JC CATE
Greetings CATE Family and Friends,
We know that passion fuels opportunities and I am SUPER EXCITED that two of our senior aerospace engineering students embraced the opportunity to apply for STEM Signing Day. Please extend congratulations to Lamika Walker and Oswaldo Trejo on being selected to be a part of the Boeing Mentorship Program. They met with congressional and industry leaders who desire to catapult our STEM job opportunities to the next level.
Thank you, Dr. Grant-Robinson for working with our students to ensure they had winning submissions to be chosen to represent Jasper County. Only two students could be selected for each county. Dr. G-R and Mr. Burgess accompanied our scholars to partake in the festivities in Columbia on May 8th.
We are finishing this year CTE Strong, and we are certainly Excelling Beyond Barriers!

Celebrating Teachers Who Excel Using the Instructional Framework
The core of our educational system is established on the foundational principles of reading and mathematics. These two pillars of learning support teaching and learning worldwide. Therefore, Rechel Anderson, the Superintendent of Jasper County School District (JCSD), along with district and school leaders, gathered to celebrate and acknowledge the staff members at each of our campuses who have done an exceptional job of implementing the Instructional Framework during the 2023-2024 school year.
This observational process, inclusive of a rubric, collaborative decisions, and debriefing sessions from district and school administrators, has resulted in the identification and recognition of one teacher leader from each of the Jasper County School District’s campuses. Each of the selected teachers received a basket and a gift card. Congratulations to each of our distinguished educators. | Mr. David Wright, Hardeeville Junior & Senior High School | Ms. Karesha Taylor-Parnell, Ridgeland Elementary School | Ms. Walisha Baines, Ridgeland Secondary Academy of Excellence | Ms. Queenie Henry, Hardeeville Elementary School |
Dr. Rechel Anderson and the JCSD leaders recognize that “the most important factor affecting student learning is the teacher. More can be done to improve education by improving the effectiveness of teachers than by any other single factor.”
- Sanders, W. L., & Rivers, J. C.
(1996)
Yes! JCSD’s Instructional Framework is really a big ordeal! More importantly, it’s an even bigger ordeal when professional educators make it come to life!
The ‘Parade’ recognition ceremony is yet another example of the District's Mantra: Student-Centered...Future-Focused!
