What changes we’ve seen over the past few weeks! With many more to come, no doubt.
As we all face the uncertain times presented by the coronavirus pandemic, I’m reminded of the following quote by the author Roy T. Bennett:
“Instead of worrying about what you cannot control, shift your energy to what you can create.”
Many of you have done just that. Thank you for sharing your ideas with us as to how you are creating ways to be of service in your communities. Because we believe it’s important for each of us to help sustain others in this time of need, here are some of the ideas that we’ve received:
- Increase in-store cleanliness. Add tissues and a waste bin next to the door, hand sanitizer on the counter, and require regular hand washing and the cleaning of all hard surfaces.
- Call customers who have left orders in the store for over a week and offer to deliver their orders to them. Offer to pick up a loaf of bread or pint of milk for elderly or disabled customers that can be delivered as well.
- Email all your customers. Offer a special on household items or wash and fold they’d like to have cleaned and sanitized.
- Add large signage instructing customers to “Park and Drop” and provide curbside service by having your customer flash their lights for service.
