Join the Ulrey and Harding family as we celebrate the 90th birthday of Dr. Evan Ulrey. Graduating from Harding in 1946, Dr. Ulrey returned to his alma mater in 1950 and was named Chairman of the Department of Speech. Through the years he successfully coached Harding's debate teams on numerous state, regional and national levels. He served as national president of the debate society and was honored to be placed in their Hall of Fame. He was also named the state's outstanding teacher by the Arkansas Speech Communication Association and won the Distinguished Teacher award at Harding in 1969 and the Outstanding Alumnus award in 1995. Dr. Ulrey retired in 1992.
