Recap for the Week ending June 21

from Mayor March

Streetscape Project Update

Crews on the Downtown Streetscape Project have finished laying stone and road mix. This week, they'll set grade pins and begin installing curbs, a process expected to take a couple of weeks.

Sidewalk removal is expected to take place mid to late July and temporary walkways will be added when the sidewalks are removed.

Reminder: All planned projects are contingent on the weather, and crews continue to work diligently to keep the construction on schedule.

Historic Peotone Windmill

The historic Peotone Windmill is operated by the Peotone Historical Society and open to visitors on Sundays from noon - 3 p.m. The octagonal structure was once a thriving flour mill that put Peotone on the map. Through generous community donations, the Historical Society is gradually funding the mill’s restoration. For a tour of the Windmill or its history, click here.
