Detour Ended, Orange Street Accessible from MLK Blvd
The detour that prevented drivers on MLK Jr. Boulevard from turning right onto Orange Street (near the Coliseum development site) has ended; motor vehicle traffic can once again turn right onto Orange Street from MLK Jr. Boulevard. Signage will alert drivers to this traffic pattern.

Accessing South Frontage Road from South Orange Street
A slightly adjusted traffic pattern is in place for drivers entering South Frontage Road (and to access Interstates 91 and 95) from South Orange Street. With the new traffic pattern, the entrance ramp from South Orange Street onto South Frontage Road has been closed and is replaced with a stop sign. At the new stop sign, drivers will be able to turn right to access South Frontage Road. Signage will direct and guide drivers through this new traffic pattern. Please note that drivers can only turn right onto South Frontage Road from South Orange Street, left hand turns and proceeding straight are prohibited. Please follow the road signage and stay safe!

Aside from what is described above, there will be no other changes to the existing traffic patterns over the next two weeks. Just as over the past few months, various single lane closures may occur in the construction area. Existing pedestrian detours also remain in place. Please see below for details on lane closures and pedestrian detours.

Throughout the two-week of period of Monday, December 7 - Friday, December 18, 2020 various single lane closures may occur on the following roads to accommodate construction:

  • Inbound & Outbound Service Drives: roads that provide access to parking under 100 College Street and go on to provide access to the Air Rights Garage
  • State Street at North Frontage Road: near the intersection of Union Avenue and Water Street
  • South Frontage Road: between South Orange Street and College Street
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard: between Orange Street and Church Street

All Downtown Crossing related work for the two-week period of Monday, December 7 - Friday, December 18, 2020 is scheduled to occur during daytime work hours. Daytime work hours are weekdays between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Any construction work that may impact traffic flow will not occur between 7 and 9 a.m. or between 3 and 6 p.m. on Monday through Friday.

Road signage will alert drivers and pedestrians to work areas and lane closures.

Please pay attention to this signage, slow down, and stay safe!
