Happy Spring! The days are getting warmer, the sun is out for longer and May rain showers will only help downtown's colorful flowers continue to bloom. We also warmly welcome all who are visiting downtown and engaging with Boulder Start-Up Week (May 15 - 19)!

As we look ahead to summer, we are excited to announce this year's Bands on the Bricks lineup - out now! Save the date for the first free concert of the season on June 14, when "The Long Run - Colorado's Tribute to the Eagles" takes the stage on the 1300 block of the Pearl Street Mall. Race and a Movie

Summer 2023

This summer, the Downtown Boulder Triple Crown Race Series is back and better than ever. Run a mile, then stick around and watch a movie under the stars!

Mark your calendars for the West End Mile followed by Top Gun Maverick (June 22), the East End Mile followed by short films (July 13) and the Pearl Street Mile (August 5) followed a few days later by a screening of Inside Out (August 10, Library Lawn in the Civic Area). Join for both the race and the movie, or come for one or the other! Movies are free and open to the public.

Enter Your Short Film!

Submission Deadline: May 31, 2023

Downtown Boulder is hosting the first-ever Short Film Festival in collaboration with the Boulder County Film Commission, and we are looking for you to submit your work! We welcome filmmakers of all ages, backgrounds and abilities to send us your short film (20 minutes or less) on any subject (preferably that has something to do with Boulder). Films can be in any language, but to ensure a family-friendly they must be acceptable for a PG audience.

Winning films will be shown at the in-person festival on July 13, 2023. Submissions are due by May 31 - no entry fee required!

Art for Hope

Now - May 24, 2023

Madelife and several local organizations have partnered to host "Art for Hope," an exhibition and silent auction fundraiser aimed at ending the stigma and raising awareness about substance use disease and providing support to those in need. The event is open now through May 24 at 1421 Pearl St. Artwork is exhibited by William Stoehr, whose paintings explore the impact of substance abuse on individuals, families and society.

100% of the funds raised during the "Art for Hope" exhibition and silent auction will go towards supporting local nonprofit organizations that provide support and resources to individuals struggling with substance use disorders.

The BOLDERBoulder 10K is for everybody! Part race, run, walk, tribute and holiday tradition, this beloved event returns May 29. Join over 50,000 participants this Memorial Day in one of the largest and most highly acclaimed 10K's in the world. Sign up before May 15 to avoid procrastination pricing increases!

Earlier in the weekend on May 27 and 28, head downtown to the Pearl Street Mall for the SportsEXPO to pick up your packet, register for the race and peruse sports vendors.
