Hello Newsletter Readers,

Happy March! Spring is officially only 12 days away...but who is counting? In preparation for warmer days, don't forget that clocks jump ahead an hour this Sunday, March 12 for Daylight Saving Time.

As we look forward to the spring season, don't forget to mark your calendars for the Tulip Fairy & Elf Festival on April 23. And for the first time, Downtown Boulder is hosting a Spring Student Window Painting Project to lead into tulip season. Students in grades K-12 are invited to paint participating business window fronts with spring-themed paintings on Saturday, April 15. Window availability is limited. Tickets will be available until March 24 (or until they sell out), so grab yours today!

Enjoy a cozy mountain town ambience reminiscent of "après-ski," complete with fire pits, live music, food & drink specials and outdoor gear from select downtown retailers.

This free wintertime event is open to the public - all are encouraged to bundle up and enjoy an après-ski environment. Whether of Irish descent or Irish spirit, there are plenty of ways to feel festive downtown this St. Patrick's Day season. Join Avanti Boulder on Friday, March 17 to partake in their St. Patrick’s Day party with holiday-themed drink specials (featuring lots of Guinness!). Then make your way to the West End Tavern for more food and beverages, and enjoy a live Irish dance show on March 18 at 6:30 pm. More festive food specials can be found in Foodie Friday!

And don't forget about the World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Parade, courtesy of Odd Fellows. On March 12 at 12 pm, find this tiny parade at 16th Street, between Pearl and Spruce Streets. The parade moves one block (yes - one block!) east and includes bagpipers, drums, Irish dancers and more entertainment.

Women's History Month

March 2023

In a quest for greater meaning, Rebecca Luna flipped her life upside down in the 1990s and moved from Washington D.C. to Boulder to attend herbalism school. After graduating, she taught botanical medicine making. But she felt like she was missing an opportunity to connect with a wider community, so she opened Rebecca’s Herbal Apothecary & Supply in 2004. “The store is really a place to get people excited about botanical medicine and inspired about environmentalism."

Downtown Boulder is filled with inspirational stories of female leaders and entrepreneurs like Rebecca. This Women's History Month, learn more about the women behind some of your favorite downtown shops and restaurants by reading Downtown Business Spotlights.
