Nothing says February in Colorado like a 60 degree day followed by several inches of snow. Hopefully everyone is staying warm and dry this morning! No matter the weather, downtown is waiting with rooftop views, cozy cafes and countless local shops.


If you're looking for indoor activities on snowy days like today, check out the new lineup of spring exhibits at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art (BMoCA). From Risa Friedman’s Rectangled to Jerrie Hurd's Beyond the Male Gaze, there are stunning new works ready to delight, intrigue and inspire you this season. Plus, mark your calendar for the upcoming Museum of Boulder exhibit Beer Here, opening March 17. This fascinating exhibit features past, present and future stories about Colorado’s brewing and beer industry, as well as more than 160 authentic historic artifacts.


The next few weeks are busy in downtown Boulder! From the Boulder International Film Festival and a Cultural Caravan pop-up to the first-ever Après Street Festival, there is a lot happening in the district. So grab your calendar and keep reading for all the latest downtown news!

Boulder International Film Festival


March 2 - 5, 2023

The Boulder International Film Festival (BIFF) returns for its 19th year, March 2 - 5, 2023! Festivities kick off on March 2 with CineChef from 5:30 - 7 pm, featuring an award-winning culinary lineup among Boulder and Denver’s top chefs. For this culinary showdown, the chefs will use their talents to create film-inspired dishes for attendees. 


The party continues on March 3 with a Red Carpet Gala and feature film, Immediate Family. Opening night includes two pre-film parties at the Hotel Boulderado and BIFF's festival party space on the third floor of the Crystal Building, 1401 Pearl (NE corner of 14th and Pearl). The parties feature live music by Tie Dye Sushi and Miguel Espinoza Fusion. The Guerilla Fanfare Brass Band will lead attendees and revelers “second line” style to the Boulder Theater for the screening of Immediate Family. Grab your Opening Night tickets today!

R Gallery & Wine Bar Cultural Caravan

The Cultural Caravan presents a pop-up concert at R Gallery + Wine Bar this Saturday, February 25 from 7 - 9 pm. Featuring live Venezuelan music from Gonzalo Teppa and Friends, this is FREE event you don't want to miss!


Located just a block off the Pearl Street Mall on Broadway, R Gallery is a venue for emerging and established Boulder artists. Attached to the gallery is a beautiful and laid-back Wine Bar - so have a glass of fine wine or local craft beer, enjoy the music and browse the rotating exhibits!


Abstract impressionist artist Kathleen LeRoy will also be exhibiting her work and meeting with attendees.

Downtown Boulder Après Street Festival


March 12, 2023 l 11 am - 6 pm

Mark your calendars! Join Downtown Boulder for the first-ever Après Street Festival, happening Sunday, March 12 from 11 am - 6 pm on the West End. This one-of-a-kind wintertime event reimagines the temporary use of streets for public spaces. Enjoy a cozy mountain town ambience reminiscent of "après-ski" on Pearl Street's West End.


This free event is open to the public and will include live musical ensembles, fire pits, outdoor picnic-style seating, games and hot cocoa. West End restaurants will be open to serve bites and sips, and outdoor enthusiasts can shop gear from select downtown retailers.
