Robi Sallee
"My love for art began at an early age as I adorned walls and school desks with my creations. After graduating from Virginia Tech's Art Department with honors, I took some time off from art to start a family. My husband and I have four wonderful and unique daughters and live in a beautiful 100+ year old farm house in Blacksburg surrounded by hay fields and farms. If that isn't enough artistic inspiration, my son loves to travel. On his most recent trip to Nepal and India, he took enough photos to keep me in paint for quite a few years.
My primary medium is acrylic, but I also love watercolor as well as just about any other creative medium. I try to use reclaimed or recycled products as much as possible in my artwork. My husband's construction company builds houses and I often sift through the leftover construction materials to find wood and ot her items to paint on for collages or frames, trying to make something beautiful out of what would normally go into a landfill.
