Dover Reads: Viking Shipping, and Rowing & Learn to Row with Great Bay Rowing | |
On Saturday, June 1 at 10am, learn about how life on the water has changed from ancient times to modern. Special speakers include Local Author Linnea Hartsuyker who will speak about the history of viking ships and rowing; former Library Director Cathy Beaudoin who will discuss the history of Dover's waterfront; and a member of Great Bay Rowing who will share the history of the group in Dover. This lecture will take place at the Dover Community Trailhead near the Transportation Center.
Following the lecture at 11am, join Great Bay Rowing for this FREE introduction to rowing in honor of National Learn to Row Day! They will meet at the trailhead on the Dover Community Trail by the Transportation Center. From there, see examples of rowing techniques and get a chance to try rowing for yourself!

Senior Living Options with Maple Suites | |
On Wednesday, June 5 at 2pm, join Jessica Johnson from Maple Suites Independent Living to learn the different levels of senior living and ways to keep you active and independent in retirement! This program is informative, offering general distinctions between different levels of care offered by most senior living facilities. It is not a sales event for Maple Suites.

Join us on Monday, June 10 at 6:30pm in the Library's Lecture Hall to learn the science, education, and application of Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT) "Tapping"; a non-invasive self-help tool for stress relief and more! This workshop is perfect for people who are new to "tapping," OR, who are familiar with the concept and would enjoy some guided simple processes with a teacher. Registration is required.

It's time to spill the tea! Get ready to strut with Dover Public Library and Teatotaller Café for "Dishing with Drag Queens" on Wednesday, June 12 at 6:30pm. Dive into a fabulous chat where our drag stars spill the beans while glamming up! Unveil the secrets of the Queen world and snag some makeup tricks along the way! The night will end with a sassy mini-drag show.

On Saturday, June 15 from 10-11:30am, we’ll be joined by Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society for a Kitty Cafe! MRFRS staff members will be on hand with cute furry faces to introduce to visitors, as well as sharing information about MRFRS and general cat care.
The Kitty Café is not a lecture, but we welcome everyone to drop by to cuddle with the cats and learn more about the adoptable kitties we have available. Cats... books... what better way to spend your Saturday morning?

Strong Towns Seacoast Meeting | |
On Saturday, June 15 at 10:30am, join Strong Towns Seacoast for a discussion of zoning policy, how it helps, and how it can be abused. Strong Towns is a national organization that advocates and creates content to promote financially strong and resilient development patterns for cities and towns. They also promote safety, livable places and elevating local governments.

Guided Forest Bathing Walk | |
On Thursday, June 20 from 5:30-7:30pm, come meet us at the Dover Community Trailhead located on Watson Road for a saunter in nature, and give yourself the gift of slowing down, being present, and connecting to your senses. This program is for older teens and adults only. This program requires a valid Dover Public Library card to register.

Mindful Stitching Workshop | |
On Wednesday, June 26 at 2pm and Thursday, June 27 at 6:30pm, learn about the Mindful Stitching Movement. In this program you'll learn what mindful stitching is and create a mindful stitching project to take home with you. This is an appropriate program for a complete beginner.

Adventure Presentation Night | |
Adventure Presentation Night invites wanderers to give a short talk on a great travel experience on Wednesday, June 26 at 6:30pm in the Library's Lecture Hall. Share an account of your trip, photos, itinerary, and any tips you might have. Listen to the presentations of others, and get ideas for your next journey. From the White Mountains to New Zealand, if you have insights on how to get there, what to eat, and how to have fun, sign up to present! Don't want to present, but still looking for vacation ideas? Come spend the evening in the audience, and have your questions answered on how best to spend your time exploring. Frederick Douglass Community Read | |
On Saturday, June 29 at 12pm, Dover Public Library will be hosting Dover's Frederick Douglass Community Read. The reading will take place on the library's lawn. Let the adventure begin! On Wednesday, June 19 & 26 from 6-8pm in the Library's Trustees Room, teens entering grades 6-12 are invited to play Dungeons & Dragons with Dungeon Master Michael! Sessions will be beginner friendly, and all supplies will be provided. Registration is required. | |
Teens entering grades 6-12 are welcome to bring home a Take & Make Kit filled with supplies to make a paracord bracelet. Kits will be available beginning June 24, and can be picked up in the Teen Loft (one per teen, please) while supplies last! | |

Dungeon World: 18 and Older Group | |
Drop in and play Dungeon World with Game Master Dave! This group is for new and veteran role-playing gamers to join us in the library for adventure, strategy, and imagination. No experience or materials are required and all skill levels are welcome to play. This month's sessions will be indoors in the Lecture Hall from 6 - 8 PM on June 11 & 25.

On Wednesday, June 5 at 11am, adults with all abilities are invited to join the Chapter Book Club. At each session, we will read several chapters from a popular book. We will end with activities and crafts related to the book and some time for socializing.
