Equity in Practice: Scholarship of Practice in Your Discipline
CAFE presents our Summer Institute 2024 - Equity in Practice: Scholarship of Practice in Your Discipline. During this 5-week, fully remote Institute with both synchronous sessions on Zoom and asynchronous work on your own, we invite faculty and staff to delve deeply into the data dashboards and other data sources that the CSU and Cal Poly Pomona make available to us. Learn from the data to plan achievable projects that contribute to increasing pass rates, improve equity outcomes, and/or build on previous work in anti-racist teaching, learning, and practice.
More than 100 faculty and staff attended the Equity in Practice Symposium on April 19th. It was a celebration of CPP's progress towards student success with 20-minute Presentations, 5-minute Lightning Talks, and a Faculty & Staff Poster Session. Lunch featured presentations from CAFE's 2024 Wall of COOL Awardees who were joined by family members, President Coley, and Interim Provost Gomez. The closing plenary described “Course Structure for Equity” by David Webb, Dept. of Physics & Astronomy, UC Davis. Go to Equity in Practice Symposium to see many of the presentations and posters!
Our three Wall of COOL 2024 awardees were presented at the symposium. Left to right: Stephanie Marin Rothman, Biological Sciences, Sangho Lee, Finance, Real Estate, and Law, and Anne Cawley, Mathematics and Statistics.
