Dear Neighbor:
I hope this email finds you well. On behalf of Congressman Andy Kim, we are proud to announce the annual Congressional App Challenge to showcase the innovation and computer science, coding, and technology talent of students in New Jersey's Third Congressional District. If you are interested in participating in this year's competition, please click here.
Officially launched by the U.S. House of Representatives in 2015, this nationwide effort has students compete against their peers in creating an application for desktop/PC, web, tablet, mobile, raspberry Pi, or other devices. The competition accepts any programming language, and the results of the challenge will be determined by Congressman Kim and a panel of expert judges. The judging period will take place in November and winners will be announced in December of this year. The winner from each congressional district will be featured on CongressionalAppChallenge.us and is eligible to be placed on display in the U.S. Capitol!
Eligibility Requirements:
- To be eligible to participate in the Congressional App Challenge, you must be a middle or high school student at the time of app submission.
- Students may register as individuals or as teams of up to four.
- Students may compete in the district they reside in or the district they attend school in.
-
If competing as a team, at least half of the teammates must be eligible to compete in the NJ-03. If you are unsure which district you reside in/go to school in, head to: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative.
The app submission deadline is November 1, 2023 by midnight!
