Don't Postpone your Home
Remodeling Dream!
Making a decision to remodel your home can be difficult. Depending on the project, it's not only expensive, but there are also a ton of considerations throughout the process. For some homeowners, the process can feel overwhelming, and it can hold them back from making necessary changes to their home that improve its functionality and often enhance their quality of life.

Some homeowners may be hesitant because of a previous bad experience with a contractor. For others, it can be second-guessing each decision. We are going to look at four kinds of fear that many homeowners may deal with when planning a renovation, and we'll offer a few tips on how you can look beyond your concerns to achieve the home you've been dreaming of like this client did... click here to see more photos of this wonderful transformation... maybe you will be inspired to start your project too!
What Happens if I Make The Wrong Decisions?
Some homeowners can be entirely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of decisions they'll need to make throughout the remodeling process. A typical remodeling project consists of a plethora of choices on everything from the style of your kitchen cabinets, to whether or not a counter-depth refrigerator is right for you, to what kind of flooring is best, all the way down to what color should go on the walls!

Before you begin, it's essential to educate yourself on some of the products and materials that are available to you. Read home design publications like Southern Living or House Beautiful, watch home improvement networks like HGTV or DIY, and go to online sites like Houzz or Instagram to gather and archive ideas.

It's always a good idea to see products and materials in person to get a better idea of if they are right for you. Touch the stone slab that you're considering for your new countertop, or peak inside the cabinets you're considering for your new kitchen!

Worrying about your decisions is understandable, especially if you don't have a lot of remodeling experience. That's why working with an expert is the wisest decision you'll make! They are entirely aware of everything that a remodeling project entails, from functionality to aesthetics. A professional will have current knowledge of the available options, including the newest materials, construction techniques, and technology available.

When you choose to work with CHW, our design team has many years of experience and is here to guide you through the entire process. From the difficult decisions about materials and recommending contractors you can trust, we can help avoid major issues that a DIY project might create.

I Don't Want to Deal with the Mess!
There's no way around it, remodeling is disruptive to your routine, and can be more than a little messy. And with a remodeling crew in your home, you'll need to be prepared for some disruption as they come in and out of your home to do their jobs.

Dealing with all of this can be stressful. You'll need to make temporary day-to-day living changes for yourself and your family throughout the process. A good contractor will work with you to better understand your routine and help you to develop a plan to manage your expectations during your project.

Work with your contractor to understand your project's timeline and how it is going to affect you during your project. You may be without rooms, toilets, or appliances at various points during your project, and you must know about it beforehand so you can make the necessary adjustments. It's important to have open lines of communication with whomever you choose to work with.

Here at CHW, we work closely with our homeowners to make disruptions to your home and lifestyle as minimal as possible. If you have a specific need, for example, you need us out of your way on Wednesday morning, just let us know, and we'll work with you to accommodate your needs as much as possible.

Remodeling is Too Expensive
Remodeling isn't cheap, and it can be a little scary making such a significant investment, especially if you're new to home improvements. That being said, a new roof, new windows, or a well-designed kitchen or bathroom can bring real value to your home. The value goes well beyond merely increasing resale value, it also includes adding the comfort and functionality that can improve your lifestyle and enjoyment. Nothing is better than coming home after a long day to a place you love!

When remodeling your home, we will take your lifestyle into account, along with your functional needs and your personal style. Make sure you thoroughly interview your contractor. Hiring a trustworthy, reputable, and reliable people can give you peace of mind!

At CHW, our award-winning design team works closely with our clients to implement the changes they're seeking to add value and comfort. We know the area where we work and can help you to make informed decisions about which changes will offer the highest return on investment in your neighborhood. We understand our client's concerns and work closely with them throughout the entire process to help make the journey as easy as possible.

It's a Pandemic... Can you still work in my home?
From the beginning of the design process to the final punch list item, CHW takes precautions to keep you and your family safe. Temperatures are taken and masks are worn during our showroom meetings. Masks are worn by our designers during any in-home measures. And our installers work in groups of just two people away from anyone living in the home during the construction process. We take this pandemic seriously and appreciate all the business we have had during these times.

Remodeling your home while sometimes challenging, can be an exciting experience that is well worth the investment!
