Don't Have Time To Exercise Challenge

I got this idea from my good friend Erica (also a fitness professional). One thing that just bugs the heck out of me and other fitness professionals is when people say "I just don't have time to work out, or I'm too busy to workout". This makes my ears ring, my head spin, and my nostrils flare. Well maybe not the last one on a good day, but it does make me feel like Homer Simpson going after Bart when he's mad. The flat truth is you do, you just don't want to. I get it, sometimes you're tired, you haven't slept, you don't feel well but you don't have to kill yourself working out either. You have to have some hard exercise days along with easy ones to allow your body to heal. The one thing you have to realize is that you must invest in your health first, and you might just find that everything else will fall into place. So with that said here's the challenge.

For the next 3 days, keep track of the times you spend on Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or any other social media site including all other places you visit on the internet. If you really want to get an accurate time, you might include the times you check your text messages as well. Each day add up those times and I bet they equal out to 20-30 minutes or even more. Then the next time you say you don't have time to exercise, think about those lost minutes spent on your phone or computer and there you go. I bet you'll be surprised on how much time you really do have to get some exercise in. No more "I don't have time to exercise excuses, or I'm too busy". You have time to get off your butt and move, you just have to make exercise priority #1 and no more excuses.

Simple Ways to Move More at Work:

  1. Exercise Before Work
  2. Walk for 10-15 Min During Lunch
  3. Work Standing Up
  4. Walk When You Talk On The Phone
  5. Take Your Gym Bag With You
  6. Multitask with TV Time
  7. Take the Stairs and Skip the Elevator
