Is Jewel really moving into the old Dominick's?  Yes!!!!!!! Expected to open by the end of 2016, this new 65,816 square foot state-of-the-art store will be located at 1150 West Maple Avenue, replacing the vacant Dominick's grocery store. 
Hawley Street is Closing
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) will be closing Hawley Street to all eastbound traffic between Midlothian Road and the CN railroad crossing, east of Chicago Avenue, beginning in the early morning of Monday, April 18. This closure will allow the contractor to complete the reconstruction of the southern two-thirds of Hawley Street as part of the Hawley Street Improvement project. Additional information can be found on the project website: www.hawleystreetconstruction.com The closure is expected to last through August 2016.
Access thru Our Property Closed when Volunteers are Working  
The volunteers and their children will be working in our garden on Sunday mornings from 9 am til noon. Our new building has a blind spot and we have to close the access thru our property when they are working due to safety issues.  I am sorry for any inconvenience this causes you.

Volunteers welcome for our Fremont Township Community Garden. The produce goes to our low income seniors and food pantry clients.  Volunteer days are Tuesday and Sunday from 9 am til noon.  All are welcome!

Recycle Your Crafts at Fremont Library
 

The Craft Recycle-O-Rama! Drop Off event is scheduled for Thursday 4/28/2016 at 10:00 AM.
Time to spring clean your craft closet! Pack up your fabric, buttons, notions, kits and other long unused craft supplies, and bring them to the Youth Services desk on April 28 & 29. Then, drop in and pick out "new" stuff on April 30 & May 1. You need not have dropped off anything in order to pick up crafting supplies, but please bring bags to tote your treasures h ome.

Mundelein Public Works Offering FREE MULCH on Saturday April 2

 
Do you need mulch for your spring flowers and landscape beds?
 
The Village of Mundelein's Public Works and Engineering Department is hosting a HUGE Mulch Madness giveaway event for all homeowners and contractors from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 2, at Mundelein Public Works Facility, 440 East Crystal Street-(adjacent to the Just for Fun Roller Rink). Mark your calendars and please plan to participate!

High quality, shredded mulch will be provided to homeowners and contractors on a first come-first served basis; FREE OF CHARGE! Equipment operators will be on site to load larger mulch requests into the back of a truck or trailer. We'll also have a 'load your own' zone for people with smaller containers to fill.

Two Low-cost Pet Vaccination Clinics Offered in April
The Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center's Animal Care and Control Program is offering two low-cost pet vaccination clinics in April. Each clinic provides a convenient and affordable way for Lake County residents to keep their pets up to date with shots and rabies tags.

From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 9, the Animal Care and Control program is partnering with Beach Park Public Works for a clinic at the public works building, 40185 Glendale, in Beach Park.

From 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 23, the program is partnering with the Vernon Hills Police Department for a clinic at the Vernon Hills Public Works Building, 490 Greenleaf Drive, in Vernon Hills. 4-H will provide pet nail trims for donations to support local not-for profit groups in Lake County.   Prior donations went to Reach Rescue and Flint Creek Wildlife Rehabilitation Center.
Standard vaccine, tag and microchip costs for the vaccination clinics are as follows:

For Pets Spayed/Neutered
One-year rabies vaccination and Lake County tag: $20.00
One-year rabies vaccination, tag and distemper: $25.00
Distemper complex only: $10.00
Microchip: $15.00
For Pets Not Spayed/Neutered
One-year rabies vaccination and Lake County tag: $60.00
One-year rabies vaccination, tag and distemper: $65.00
Distemper complex only: $10.00
Microchip: $15.00

Pets will be taken on a first-come, first-served basis. All animals brought to the clinic must be at least four months old. Dogs must be leashed and cats placed in carriers. Only cash will be accepted on site. Proof of spay/neuter may be required.

MHS Master Singers and Select Women's Ensemble will be performing at  St. Mary of the Annunciation, 22333 W Erhart Road in Mundelein in Fremont on April 14th at 7pm. The concert is free and open to the public, and a reception will follow.  Donations appreciated and will go to the Baker Brave Foundation.  Musical highlights of the concert include "Je le vous dirai," "Bogoroditse Devo" "Ave Verum,"  "Salmo 150,"  and John Leavitt's "Petite Mass." 
 
MHS MUSTANG FOOTBALL LIFT-A-THON FUNDRAISER
Mustang Football Fans! The MHS Mustang Football Team  annual Lift-a-Thon Fundraiser is being held on Saturday, April 23rd from 5:30-7:30pm at Mundelein HS . Players will be competing to lift the most weight possible in three different categories, while collecting pledges from family and friends. All funds raised at this event will be used to send our players to a football summer camp at Carthage University.
Pace Dial a Ride Expansion of Service

Ride Lake County Central Service is a new curb-to-curb dial-a-ride service, for eligible residents, in the central Lake County Townships of Fremont, Shields, and Libertyville, and the Villages of Mundelein and Libertyville. The Ride Lake County Central is a new program which takes an exciting step toward Lake County Coordinated Transportation Services Committee's (LCCTSC) goal to create a borderless transportation service in the county and builds off of existing township, village, county and Pace partnerships.


Fremont Township residents now have more options offered by Pace Dial a Ride.   Click here for the Ride Lake County Central Brochure. This will take you curb to curb, anywhere in Fremont, Libertyville and Shields Townships.

You still have the opportunity to get to anywhere in Avon, Antioch, Lake Villa, Wauconda, Grant and Fremont Townships on Pace as well.   Click here for the Ride Lake County West Brochure.
 
These programs are now curb to curb 5 days a week.

The cost is $3.00 each way for trips under 10 miles for disabled and/or senior
and $6.00 each way for trips over 10 miles

To make a reservation and to register, just call 1-800-201-6446 24 hours in advance. 

Passengers may make reservations 7 days in advance for work, medical appointments and College of Lake County trips. If you cancel you must provide at least 2 hours notice.

Community Room Available for Groups
Fremont Township residents looking for a location for their community group to meet should contact our office at 847 223-2847.

Play Duplicate Bridge at Fremont Township on Monday mornings. Contact Barb Stone at 847 566-0889. This is ACBL sanctioned so you can earn points.
Fremont Township Food Pantry
Fremont Township operates a food pantry.  If you are aware of Fremont residents in need, please refer them to our office.

Our pantry accepts monetary, food and non-perishable donations from local residents and businesses.  

Donations can also be made to the Fremont Township Community Garden. The Garden provides fresh produce to our low income seniors and food pantry clients.  We appreciate the generosity of our community.  

We are currently in need of cereal and breakfast items, toiletries and cleaning supplies.
Recycle Sheets, Blankets, Towels, for the Dogs
If you have used towels, sheets or blankets that need to be recycled, please consider bringing them to Fremont Township at 22385 Rt 60, Mundelein to be donated to local Animal Shelters and Rescues.  Please drop them in the bin on the front porch. This keeps them out of the landfill and puts them to good use.  

We also accept eye glasses and shoes to be recycled year round.  If you are disposing of shoes that have laces, please tie the laces together.
Donate to our Diaper Bank
Fremont Township is a member of the Diaper Bank Partnership of Lake County.  This service can provide 30 diapers / month (adult and child) to residents in need. If you know of Fremont Township residents in need, please have them call our office at 847 223-2847 for more information.

We also accept diaper donations.  We are in need of sizes childrens size 3,4,5 and 6, and Women's XL pullups and Men's L pullups.
